So, after getting back into Skyrim, I've installed a ton of mods again. Being okay with modding, I'm unsure whats causing this as I don't think any of my mods should be conflicting. If its my system, I have all of the high res DLC on and the mod "I can't believe its not an ENB" on. I've also got it running at max settings I believe. FPS is fine.

1. Did you run LOOT to sort your load order

 

1a. and have you cleaned all dirty mods that LOOT Reported

Note: both mods above fix a lot issues with base game, both are essential for a stable game.

 

Note: LOOT = Load Order Optimization Tool (a decent tool that is a good base to get a correct load order, its not fool proof though, but its a damn good start, a correct load order is mandatory for a modded game, if the load order is not correct, all sorts of issues can arise, both minor and major, from mods being overridden by others mods, thus preventing their edits from appearing in game, to major issues, like Crashes, Freezes, and other bad times.)

 

4. you have a few mods their that use leveled lists, i recommend creating a bash patch to merge the leveled lists:

 

Download Wrye Bash = https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/1840/?

 

Run it - On the right pane window right down the bottom - Right Click on Bash Patch,0 - Click on Rebuild Patch

 

that will then merge all leveled lists together, ensuring that all mods that use the same leveled lists will have their gear appear in game, else it will be priority based, meaning mods that are lower in the load order have priority, and will override other mods that are higher in the load order, thus preventing the mods that are higher in the load order from having their edits appear in game, in this case gear

 

as for laptops, the issue is not so much that their specs are usually subpar, but its the fact they have very bad cooling performance, meaning they can overheat easily, when the hardware overheats, it will then downlock itself, which means your performance downgrades with it, for a modded game you will need all the performance you can get, and so, lack of performance equals a bad time. the game can very easily crash if its not getting sufficient performance. as can the laptop freeze up if has insufficient resources. if the temperatures get to severe the system will even shut down, to prevent damage.

 

a heavily modded game will also increase temperatures. a lot of people don't realize how hot laptops actually get, they have tiny fans. this is also precisely why laptops generally have inferior hardware to pc, because the more powerful the hardware is (the more work it will be doing, thus also increasing temperatures further), and the generally the more you push it. thus increasing temperatures even further. however generally more powerful hardware has superior cooling performance, but this cannot happen in a laptop due to how small it is (the cooling performance will be better but not by much, because the fans ovbiously play a big role in tempertures, and you can not have a huge fan in a laptop, not only but airflow also plays a huge role in temperatures, again i don't believe laptops have good airflow).

 

for example i have very good cooling in my pc, and my GPU reaches 65 degrees, now imagine this same GPU in a laptop and how hot it would get.

I've used wyrebash, but for some reason its wanting both the legendary patch AND the normal skyrim unofficial patch

can you screenshot this so i can see exactly what is happening, as you would not need both, the only thing i can think of is if you have 2 mods, 1 that requires the normal unofficial patch, and the other that requires the legendary edition patch (USLEEP)

Should I screenshot NMM or Wyrebash? I don't think any of my mods require the old unofficial patch, I don't remember ever choosing the old one during mod installation, just the new one.

It does say "Error in StojaMakeupPack.esp" I don't know what that means, though.

 

UPDATE: I got it, it was that other .esp I had disabled, it needed USKP. that was my bad.

Still crashing though.

Another update: Fixed it I think. The fixes helped, but then it started to freeze instead so I had to also install anti-freeze enb. Unfortunately, that ruins the use of 'i cant believe its not an enb'

And after adding a few mods, running LOOT and wyrebash, the crashes have returned. Well, dang.

 

Gave up and deleted everything lol
