What is ideal "good" FPS with top tier mods?

Hello everyone!

I have recently purchased a new laptop and am trying to determine the best balance between performance/graphics.

Here is my current build:

Intel i7 - 2.8GHz

16gb Memory

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 w/ 6.0GB

Right now I'm running the game w/ Ultra settings and multiple graphic mods including

-Static Mesh Improvement

-Skyrim Flora Overhaul

-SSE Texture Pack

-Verdant - Skyrim Grass Plugin

-Gecko's 4k Mountain Textures

-Beautiful Signs, Book Covers and most of the Rustic graphic improvements.

I was getting near perfect FPS of at least 60 everywhere (the utility I use only shows a max of 60).

I just installed the ENB graphics "mod" and found it took a hit. I did use Vivid Weathers + the extreme dynamic field of view and the ENB only.

Now my FPS is in the 50's in most places although it did drop down to the high 40's in Whiterun.

Is this considered acceptable performance for what all I am running? I'm also running mods like 28 Days Later, multiple creature mods, Open Cities and stuff like Wildcat.

If I am getting just 40's in Whiterun should I expect it to dip in the 20's in very graphic areas like during immersive patrol encounters?

Should I downgrade ENB to be less intensive or does my performance seem okay for what I am getting?

Thanks in advance!

I'm assuming you are running at 1080 res?

You could start with turning DOF off. That should help a little with FPS. But in general, ENBs are going to hurt your FPS. If you don't need the ENB features, you can try using ReShade instead or some of the color enhancer mods.

What skin textures do you have installed? Any NPC mods...etc. Those will all take up vram and potentially hurt FPS if you are using 4K textures.

Your running on a mobile GPU they tend to be less powerful compared to desktop ones due to keeping power and heat to a minimum. First off go into settings to make sure your power scheme is set to max performance so you don't get GPU throttling. Second make sure the Gforce settings are also set to max performance and not application controlled. As Metalsaber stated the higher the resolution of the textures the more Vram is used so limit 4k as the max you can use but I would lower some to 2k mostly in areas you notice you get the highest dips in frames. Also make sure you keep that SSD trimmed or HDD defragged so you minimize seek times too. You can adjust grass draw in distances and shadow quality to get a sizable increase in frames Shadows being the biggest hog. Shadows on medium will free up frames and you wont notice it hardly at all if any. Grass draw in too as you don't need to render grass and shadows of the grass at distaces you cant see on a laptop screen. ENB and Reshade are GPU intensive post processing and you are on a mobile version GPU so slightly dialing back some of them will help too. Also make sure your not getting CPU throttling while playing too My Asus ROG laptop liked to do that to me a lot and I found was a huge hit to FPS. You can goggle to find a program that will kill CPU throttle while playing. Oh a major slow down is if you loaded really high res body textures for your character because all the NPC's use it too so in high NPC traffic you will take a big hit from it so don't go above 4k unless you use unique character mod so only you have the higher textures. hope some of that helps enjoy.
