Changing colors on .nifs

I'm looking to make a custom hazard for my Casting Circles, changing the bright yellow one from Guardian Circle into a mystical blue one. What I'm not sure of is how to change the color. It seems like it's something in Nifskope, but I'm not sure WHAT. Does anyone know? Thank you in advance.

In most cases when you change the color of something, you need to retexture it using tools like GIMP and NifSkope. You create a new .dds file with different colored graphics than the original. But in some cases this does not work and the .nif really does not care what the .dds looks like because the material properties are so overwhelming. Soul gems are an example of an item where the material properties are very powerful and override or partially override the .dds. In these cases you could get by with just changing the material properties in NifSkope and leaving the .dds alone. You would be working with settings like Emissive Color and Specular Color way down in the list under a branch heading of BSLightingShaderProperty.

Hmm... nope, not seeing a BSLightingShaderProperty. I've got BSEffectShaderProperty. Is that what I need? Healinghazard.nif is the file I'm looking at.

Watching intently....I tried getting this to work but failed miserably. After losing a night of potential progress on things I knew how to do, I gave up. Good luck!
