TheUnknown970
Hey all, So I have been using NMM for well over a year now maybe two. I don't use SKSE, and I have been using the same 185 mods for about 4 characters spread out over a year and half now. I have LOOT, and here are my specs: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core ProcessorMSI Z97 PC MATE ATX LGA1150 MotherboardCorsair Vengeance 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory (2)Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard DriveEVGA GeForce GTX 980 4GB Superclocked ACX 2.0 Video CardCorsair SPEC-01 RED ATX Mid Tower CaseCorsair CX 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power SupplyMicrosoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 OEM (64-bit)Asus VG248QE 144Hz 24.0" Monitor Now with that all out of the way, here's the issue. I have never had a problem with these mods. When I downloaded them way way back, I did them in 5 mod bursts and ran the game for about 10 minutes just doing quests and various things and just making sure everything was fine. I had just recently started a dual mage (the second to last class I need next to two handed) and I'm level 13. I can't remember what I did last in the game, I think it was something to do with the College of Winterhold towards the end of the quest line. KEEP IN MIND I NEVER INSTALLED ANY MODS OR TOUCHED THE GAME IN BETWEEN WHEN I SHUT OFF MY COMPUTER AFTER SAVING AND QUITTING AND WHEN I TURNED IT BACK ON. I saved and quit, and went down for bed on a monday night. On tuesday night, I came on and started Skyrim, clicked continue, and waited for the loading screen and went on my phone. After 5 minutes I realized it normally takes about 20 seconds, not 5 minutes. My computer was frozen. I shut it off via the Ctrl+Alt+Delete way and pressed cancel when skrim shut off, so I didn't have to completely power down. I then restarted my computer painstakingly and then it still didn't work. I installed a mod called safety load, and it didn't work so I disabled it. I tried deleting some saves, thinking they were corrupted. I tried using LOOT, to no avail. What do you guys think it is? I really don't know what to do, and I've searched around the internet. I will keep this tab open in case anyone replies or if anyone needs any more information. I can supply almost any information about my situation. Edited October 11, 2017 by TheUnknown970
Grospolina
Are you using ENB or ENBoost? If not, then without SKSE you don't have any memory fixes at all. With 185 mods, you're gonna need them. I suggest installing SKSE and then these (copied from a previous post of mine):SKSE Memory Patch - Sheson's memory patch is integrated into SKSE, but not enabled by default.ENBoost - This gives you the memory management features of ENB without the visual effects processing. Not needed if you run an ENB.Crash Fixes - Changes memory allocation method, and often provides crash information. Be sure to read the description.Load Game CTD Fix - Prevents crashing on load due to race condition bug.Edit: Safety Load is a SKSE plugin so it wouldn't have done anything for you. You don't need it anyway if you install the above fixes. Edited October 12, 2017 by Grospolina
