lv1234
Here are the links to the mods before i start talking or listen me talk then go to the linksSimple realism: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/18752/? FWE: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/2761/? Fallout 3 reborn: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/3929/? Which mod would best suited to turn fallout 3 into a survival game? I have tried simple realism and it is alright but I want some primary needs added to it. If anyone can find good compatible primary needs mod to SR, then that would be nice. I know that reborn and FWE includes this already. I also want mods that are compatible with most used mods out there. Especially quest, more weapons + attachments, creatures mods. Deleted21304489User
Honestly, the best way to find mods that appeal to you... is to use them and see for yourself. However, if you want my opinion... here it is. I personally use Simple Realism. I put together my own version of it by combining the modular version into one mod that I merged together using TES Mergers. It works rather nice for me. I also play my game on "Very Hard", so it's more challenging. That being said, I have to eat food a lot as stimpacks are limited by SR. That takes care of the primary needs that you're interested in. I use SR now, because I found FWE to be riddled with glitches, missing sound files, missing meshes, etc. There are even some issues with Primary Needs, CRAFT, etc. I also can't stand the 21st Century Weapons that it injects into the game. The weapons look bad (amateurish), to put it simply. FWE is abandoned by it's author, full of bloat, and overrated imo. I can't speak to Fallout 3 Reborn, but after looking at the mod page... seems like it's still in Beta. You could also look into "Arwens' Tweaks". I'm not familiar with it, but said to add more of a "survival" experience to the game. If I'm not using WMK is my load order, I use Re-Energized Weapons. A mod by the same author as Simple Realism. If you use Simple Realism and Re-Energized Weapons together and play the game on "Very Hard"... you're in for a challenging run... trust me. A Mr. Gutsy will strike fear in your heart, as it can strike you down in one, or two shots. Anyone carrying a Gatlin' Lazer is not to be trifled with. The author of both these mods made them with normal play in mind, so playing them on Very Hard is even more challenging and fun, imo. I go between WMK and Re-Energized Weapons. I could probably patch them to work together, but the way WMK is made... it would be too much of a pain in the you-know-what. WMK is fun and really mostly just eye candy and something else to do with the work bench. Most of it's stat improvements are only noticeable if using VATS, so if you don't use VATS... it's mostly just to make your weapon look "cooler". With auto fire being the exception. I also use the Experience Level Adjustment Mod, by Kotlecik. Depending on how my load is, I use different tables to make leveling up slow, or slower. They work great and if I'm guessing correctly... it's basically what FWE uses. That's really all FWE is... a bunch of seperate mods all put together, from different mod authors. I use MMM as well. However I do not use the Paradox Merge version, as it has a nasty habit of spawning creatures into the landscape and other static objects. The original version is what I use. It's more esp files, but it's a lot more stable imo. That's all I'll say about that. As far as knowing what is compatible... the best thing to do, is become familiar with FO3Edit. If you wan't to have a successfull load order and see how mods function with one another, this is really the only way. There is a tutorial for it on the Nexus. Study it and there is nothing you can't do with mods you use. It's really the only way to eliminate all conflicts with your load order (Conflict Report). Also, you'll be able to edit mods and patch them to work well together. In time you'll also start to notice how many mod author's are sloppy and be able to clean up the mod yourself. Plus depending on what mods you use... you'll be able to create a merged patch. This is mainly important for leveled lists and form id lists. You'll also be able to clean mods of "dirty edits" which will help make your modded game even more stable. If you want to make your load order less bulky, etc... you'll want to take a look at Wryeflash, so you can make a bashed patch. Good luck.
