NWorld Safari Adventure (Cito) Quest - good ending?

So I haven't even met Gage at the top of Fizz Mtn after running the gauntlet and becoming overboss, but have just been tooling around and exploring. Still on good terms with the gangs but, eventually, I'm going to kill them all for the good ending. (I've spoken to the Doc so have that quest open.)

 

I did the quests related to Kiddie Kingdom, Galactic Zone, Dry Gulch and the Bottling Factory (Refreshment World) and each just ended with no mention of raiders/ claiming the area. But when I did the Safari Adventure quest, my choices appear to be 1) kill Cito and claim the park for a gang 2) throw him out into the wasteland and claim the park for a gang or 3) convince him to share his home with a gang. It's just gang, gang, gang and nothing for what I want to do, which is to have him left alone in the Safari Park with his gorilla family.

 

There's a small blurb on wiki about how, if you start the quest on good terms with the gangs but end it when you're hostile to the gangs, the quest ends when you speak to Cito for the last time. Not sure if that means he stays or not. Anyone tried this? I have a save just before going into the monkey house before the final Cito conversation, so I'm just going to keep playing from there and, yeah, eventually slaughter all the raiders. Hopefully it'll work out, but just curious if anyone's tried something like that so I can rest easy. (I'll find out eventually, I suppose but, still... )
