Construction Set: Assigning Ownership

Is it possible to add ownership flags to more than one item at once in CS? For example, could I select all of the objects I want to be owned by a certain NPC and then instantly assign that ownership to all of those objects? I certainly hope this is possible, because if it is not that means I have thousands of individual objects to go through, one at a time, assigning ownership...

It depends alot on what the item is, and where it is. For interiors, setting the NPC or faction as the owner of the cell is usually enough to flag every container or item placed in the cell as being owned by that NPC within the game. However in the case of shop owners, you should manually set main things, like merchant containers, to that NPC just to avoid any potential issues. You would also need to set individual ownership to the shop keeper if the interior is owned by a faction, or is unowned.

 

For exterior spaces, you pretty much have to bite the bullet and just set everything manually. But I would hope that you aren't attempting too much of this since a heavily cluttered exterior can have very significant performance costs.

Thanks very much. I am setting the ownership of items in interior cells. I was also setting the ownership of the cell, but I did not know this also made every item within owned by that NPC. That makes things much easier. Now I just have to go to each interior cell and set the owner rather than going to every single item to set the owner.
