JeffroDaMan
Hopefully someone here has experienced this same problem and found a way to fix it. I had my character marry Jordis the Sword Maiden on my current run through of the game. I have probably 150 hours past that and only keep one save to free up space on my compuer. When using Oriental Beauty Mod, Jordis isn't exactly a beauty in my eyes, so I used the different divorce mods--both the ones on nexus and through steam workshop (separately). When I go back and try to marry Lydia or Aela (Only two I have tried so far), I'll get to the ceremony and Maramal will give his initial speech and ask and get the I do from the new spouse. After they say I do, the ceremony dialogue stops and I'm stuck just standing there. If I ask the potential spouse they gush about the wedding day and doesn't advance. If I try to talk to Maramal it says he is busy. In addition to this, and I don't know if it has something to do with it or not, but sometimes, during the ceremony, some of the guests will be talking over Maramal. Any ideas on how to fix this. Again, I have used the different divorce mods and everything, it just has something to do with the scripting for the ceremony. I have been looking, but not able to find a way to proceed past it and complete the ceremony. If I do setstage and advance the quest, it fails. OK, if anyone knows a lot about the scripting, I may have figured the issue out. When I open the quest in the creation kit, it looks like the dialogue/acting portion from that point on is missing. Any idea on how to correct it without having to do a full reinstall and download all the patches? Edited March 12, 2012 by JeffroDaMan
Staind716
If you haven't tried verifying your game cache through Steam I would give that a shot first before going through all the hassle of a reinstall. Also, it is usually not a good idea to use two mods that change the same thing in game because that is one of the main causes of conflicts. If verifying your files doesn't work let me know and we'll see what else you can try.
Magny
I have the very same problem. The bride-to-be says 'I do, now and forever', then the ceremony stops and I am free to move around and interact with the world. Activating Maramal gives 'this person is busy', indefinitely. I did a complete un-install/re-install of the game/1.5 patch and started a new character with the vanilla game (no mods). Did the Golden Claw quest (Bleak Falls Barrow) and then arranged to marry Camilla Valerius. With the new character, the ceremony ran through all the way and I was asked for my vows. When I then reloaded my previous character's save (still no mods) the ceremony broke as before. Lastly, I tried reloading the new character again and again the ceremony worked. I'm assumimg something is broken specific to the save which is preventing Maramal's vows dialogue starting. Having looked in the Creation Kit, I can see this is 'Action 8' of the 'RelationshipMarriageWeddingSceneView', and related to a package called: 'MarriageWeddingMaramalForceGreetPackage', which has the topic 'RelationshipMarriageWeddingScenePlayerVowsTopic (00075C9E)'. I think perhaps the Player is failing one of the rules needed to run the package? The failing character has never been married previously and is over 200 hours old, so if anyone can offer any insight, I would sincerely appreciate it! EDIT: To workaround this problem, wait until the ceremony gets stuck, then type 'setstage RelationshipMarriageWedding 100' at the console. This effectively answers "Yes" to the question Maramal should be asking you and completes the Bonds of Matrimony quest, gives you and your spouse 'The Band of Matrimony', unlocks the 'Married' achievement and generally does everything that answering "Yes" to the missing dialogue is supposed to do. Your spouse and guests will leave immediately, but Maramal and the other priests will remain stuck until the ceremony times out. This timeout occurs regardless of whether you leave immediately or not, but wait at the temple for a few hours if you want to be certain. It's worth speaking to your spouse before they leave the temple, in order to agree where they are going to live and to confirm that you are successfully married. Hope this helps others - please note that I have only used this method with a character who hadn't previously been married.
