today came a day i thought would never happen

i left deviantart permanently

i got a few loose end to tie up but from then on i wil leave the community i have held so dear for 5 years

and why ?

there are a lot of reasons but the final straw is that i had to sit and watch how some goddamn script kiddie hacked the account of a friend of mine and the admis they didnt care it took 5 hours of repeated yelling on their front pages by me to finally get of their lazy vulking asses and do something

by that time her 716 piece gallery was reduced to 97

and to stop the script kiddie male without a father they had to ban her acocunt in the process

marvelous work there deviant so the defense against little bastards like this is banning the account and not freezing it ?

the site needs an overhaul and a couple of admins who give a damn

i made soem marvelous friends on there

and my time on there has been great but this is the final straw

This is what happened to me on 405th.com

Someone hacked my account, and posted something, pretending to be me claiming rights to someone else's work.

The Admin had a temper tantrum, and the next thing I know, I'm banned. He won't unban me, unless I prove I was hacked, which is going to be hard to do, because this person is most likely NOT going to come back.

Hopefully you'll host your work somewhere else for all of us to see!

Cheers,

gman021

not much place to go

right now im on yiffstar but its not a place i like much

i dispise furaffinity

the requirements for vcl are insane they more or less order you to conform to their inana upload requirements and i refuse to do that

furry art pile is just as bad as furaffinity

elood requires you to fill ina questionaire and send art to see if y ou are good enough to join their prestigious little community ..vulk that

so that leaves me with sheezy art not my first choice not my last either

Why not just find a simple free blogging site. Although their gallery options aren't too great, it can, and has been done. You could always have the blog site link to a gallery hosted somewhere else.

As for hackers and script kiddies go, they exist everywhere. The only real thing you can do to keep yourself safe is to always practice good online security. Deviantart, as well as Myspace tends to have alot of people who end up making their passwords interest related, and then go on to tell everyone about their interests. They also tend to go around clicking links without a second thought. I'm not saying that this is what your friend did, but this is how several people have been hacked. If you have a few farily long password made up of numbers and letters that you only use on secure sites, the chances of being hacked because of someone taking the time to randomly guess is significantly reduced.

i tried a blogging site before but it left me rather cold

i am more used to deviantart based gallery

i also tried it with a website of my own but it was more troubl then it was worth and i had to link to photobucket in the end so i didnt bother with that any more

what irritates me and what was the final straw for my exit is that i had to watch how this script kiddie was demolishing the account of a friend of mine and the admins were doing nothing several were online i notified hem and one of them had the nerve to tel me to file a report

a report isnt good enough it will be too late then

it is already too late

its a great site with agreat community when you sift through all the crap but the admins they dont care about the end users any more

Well, you have to file a report, it's as simple as that. Admins have certain rules they need to follow, the rules are there to keep someone with admin rights from just going around doing as they please. I don't know the specifics, but would imagine that the admins had reasons for doing what they were doing. You could have submitted a report, and then gotten on their case for not acting. And then taking the time to help save what work there still was, just incase your friend didn't back it up somewhere offline, so that once things were sorted out, you could help with the repairs.
