CTD with ENB

Hey folks,

so I just had to reinstall my OS. On the other side of that my computer is shiny and new and blazing fast again. (It's actually really nice.) And everything works... except Skyrim when an ENB is installed. To be clear Skyrim runs just fine without it but either the injector or the wrapper version cause instant CTD at the menu. What is also strange is that, for some reason, I can no longer use alt+F4 to close the game and just yesterday, before the fiasco that prompted the OS replacement, I could.

Now to be very clear: I keep all of my games and data, including all of my user libraries (My docs, my pics, my vids, downloads, etc.) on a drive separate from the OS. Replacing my OS was a simple matter of wiping the drive and starting over. So what gives, right? I mean the game is the same. My skyrim and skyrimprefs inis are the same. The skyrim game folder and all of the mods and files and folders within it (including all the enb files) are exactly the same.

So what the huh-huh-HUH?! You know?

Anyhoo - if anyone can provide me with a clue that'd be great cos I like my game with my enb. It's puuuuurty. Without it.... it's really not.

I guess that's it.

Thanks

Found the problem and the solution. I needed the Direct X Runtimes. Once downloaded, extracted, and installed (with the DXSetup.exe) I was able to use the ENB again.

Also, the alt-f4 issue was apparently caused by my completely failing to remember to use OneTweak and windowed mode.

That-ah... pretty much covers the range of tonight's boneheadedness... err... actually no. It doesn't. But you folks don't need to know about that and I? I think I've embarrassed myself quite enough today, thanks.

Cheers all.
