Strange Duplicate Issue

Triforce1

Recommended Posts

Okay, I am doing the Theives' Guild questline; in particular, the time whan I am reporting to Armand the most. Well, I walk into the Waterfront area only to find all of the pirates dead and two figures outfitted in full Daedric Armor weilding Daedric Chainsaws (one of the mods I am using). They are NPC's I've never heard of before, but I am sure they aren't new. The thing is, they are exactly the same person; name, inventory, greeting, everything. The other wierd thing about this is that this has happened twice. The first time, I too was fully outfitted in Daedric Armor with a Chainsaw. It seems that this NPC has somehow been duplicated and given my inventory to reak havok on the waterfront. The first time, I dismissed it, loaded an earlier save, and came back to the waterfront to find everything normal. That is what I did this time as well, but I still find this whole incident strange. Any suggestions as to this happening would be greatly appreciated.

I've noticed that people who post their load order get more help in these issues. So here it is:

The pirates in the WaterFront area are extremely hostile, especially the Dunmer lady that stands next to the brow. I have seen several times when an innocent NPC will walk by at the wrong time and a riot breaks out; pirates, NPCs, guards, they all just go nuts ("go nuts" = technical term of the day).

There is a mission that will requires you to board the ship, if you complete that mission and the pirates are still alive, they actually get worse. They start running around all the time with their weapons drawn. Of course sooner or later (usually sooner) this will annoy the guards and then the riot happens anyway.

As far as why they seem to have all your gear, I have no idea. If I remember correctly they are all named "Pirate" and carry cutlasses. There is nothing that is affected by their deaths except that it will make one of your missions easier and you don't have to hear them sing that annoying song every time you walk by.

I'm sorry; I guess I wasn't clear in explaining this happening. I know that the pirates are terribly hostile, particularly after that DB quest when you kill their captain (as you said). If you even step near the boat they go crazy. However, what I wish to know is why some random NPC (he's not a pirate; he's some High Elf or Breton who's name starts with an "A". I keep thinking his name's Areldur but I don't remember) has a duplicate who runs around with him on the Waterfront wearing my armor and weilding my weapon.

Probably a bug related to one of your plugins which adds more NPCs to the game. Or it's intentional, and only happens when you're past a certain level. Someone who is wearing the same equipment as you can be quite tough.

That's true. I have the Better Cities series and City Life; that is probably the deal. Also, I've finished the main quest; perhaps someone envys the Champion? Immitation is the most sincere form of flattery...Thanks anyway.
