dualm
I cleaned my vanilla Skyrim Legendary Edition download with Tes5 Edit, after running loot. Software downloaded outside of program folder. I've tried loading in compatibility mode, given administrator privileges for all Skyrim applications and in low resolution (each method separately and together) but to no avail. Grospolina
Let me get this straight. Everything's purple, including stuff on the main menu and in the game? If so, then it sounds like a texture problem. Maybe your Skyrim - Textures.bsa is missing or corrupted. Can you do a Steam verify integrity? It'll replace your cleaned masters unless you're using MO, so back them up (or just redo them later).

I've done the Steam verify integrity several times, even after the initial install, and subsequent checks, it indicates one file as missing but it has always done that. Grospolina
What if you delete your Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini and then run the Skyrim Launcher again? Maybe Skyrim - Textures.bsa is missing from your INI file.

I don't understand how my new PC would cause this, it ran consistently well with my old 2Gb card.
Grospolina
You're welcome! Oh, did you just change video cards then? You have to run the Skyrim Launcher so that it detects the new card and adjusts the SkyrimPrefs.ini. Since we usually start the game through skse_launcher instead, it's easy to miss this. I spent hours trying to figure this out and the true fix took 30 seconds, SMH, it exasperates me to think about it but not even close to the relief (and gratitude) for the issue's resolution.
