Reaver1990
While I can describe and even drawn most of the Warhammer 40k weapons, I have no idea as to how to make any of them, and was wondering if anyone would want to take this up?
NanakoMagojiro
If you can draw, you're halfway there :D start learning modelling in blender and the rest will seem easy.

DiGiTALZOMBiE
Would 40k weapons not look a little out of place, are you thinking power swords and such?
LunaWolve
I really approve this Thread... Finally my Name got a f***ing reason :3 Would really appreciate Power Fists and Claws.I Suppose it wouldnt be that Lore-Unfriendly, if you make them Dwarve-style. Like goldenstyle and with a little bit of that technology, if you understand what i mean. What do you need to do it? 3DS max for the 3D modellSome .dds Editor. Like Photoshop (textures) Well i suppose thats it.Cant help you with that unfortunately (Just with suggestions, but nothing more :/) MFG: LunaWolve
Matth85
If you can draw, you're halfway there start learning modelling in blender and the rest will seem easy. Not quite. If you can draw the concept, you are about 1/4th there. All of the required areas requires different skillset as well, which takes years to learn. In a pipeline you will have: 1) Concept ideas.2) Final concept art.3) Model4) Sculpt5) Bake6) Textures Which boils down to: Drawing --> Requires a sense of values and perspective.Modelling --> Requires a sense of 3d and geometry.Sculpting --> Requires a sense of depth, as well as a good understanding of modelling. Texturing --> Requires a sense of materials. Knowing how materials works and how they react to different scenarios. Knowing to draw will give you a headstart with sculpting and handpainting some textures, but that's it.Sorry, I know it was meant as "peptalk", perhaps as a joke, but I'm bored. Now, back on topic: If you want something made, provide pictures. Having a trillion requests for models a day, one is easily burrowed away. You want to make your idea seem interesting and cool as soon as somebody takes a look.As of now your post only interest people who knows what you talk about. Albeit a good portion do, you might just alienate the few that got the time to model for you. I recommend a few pictures of what you want, so we don't do the guess work, and a clear idea of what you want. Just remember, thing takes time and we are all busy :) Cheers,Matth
Reaver1990
The first is an example of a power fist, the second a chainsword, and the third a force halberd from the Grey Knights (seeing as I should represent my army). I don't claim any of the works. Edited March 14, 2012 by Reaver1990
LunaWolve
SoI think this could be a good thing to start with (With the Force Halberd) http://i.imgur.com/haYP3.png I Hope these concepts can help some modellers to create it, to help us :
Reaver1990
Now, I can use 3ds Max, and if anyone wants to take this up, I can try to make models to work with, but no garuntee as far as the color goes: I've got no experience w/ meshes and such.
