donniemunro
PC game developers have an impossible job. They have to make their software work on an almost infinite variety of hardware configurations; it has to work on a wide range of screen resolutions; it must work on poorly optimised PCs full of clutter that may or may not affect the game; it has to work on hardware yet to appear; and many customers fiddle around with GPU and .ini settings - often without really knowing what they're doing. The result is that forums such as this one are full of complaints that the software doesn't work properly. I love PC gaming, but sadly I think its days are numbered. Developers will focus exclusively on consoles because it's easier to code for standard, low-spec, sealed boxes that cause far fewer hassles. I do think PC gamers can help by assuming there are faults in their own systems before blaming manufacturers for their problems, but I realise that's just wishful thinking. ProjectVRD
PC game developers have an impossible job. They have to make their software work on an almost infinite variety of hardware configurations; it has to work on a wide range of screen resolutions; it must work on poorly optimised Intel and AMD processors (whether Core2Duo or 6-Core) are all fundamentally the same and the processor sorts most of the workload, the developer only needs to add a few lines of code to allow the processor to properly dictate the work. While graphics cards also work in identical ways no matter how many pipelines, shaders etc are there. If programs were made properly then there is little need for this so called optimisation. What let Skyrim down was catering to console's which threw a lot of bugs into the system and the gaming engine is restricted by physical capabilities that are not inherent to PCs. What happened to Skyrim having these bugs is not what happened to many other games before they started putting in consolised restrictions. All games should be developed for PC first, and then released later when ready for consoles... even if it means a one year wait. Although I would accept this could be deemed an elitist way to look at things, but just look at Crysis... that is very clean, then Crysis 2 which included masses of consolisation there are many problems because there is code that should not be there. One was written for a specific platform and performed amazingly well, the other is a nightmare.

Guru82
I'm running on a HD5970 with drivers 12.1 and they are working awesome for me. So,dont upgrade your drivers, this only happens to me after install the 12.3 . I'll be working on a fix for this later today. I have read about placing a couple of 12.1 dll's into the Skyrim folder so that we can use 12.3 with AA on. Will test it. If it works I'll create my own patch and put it up here on the Nexus. My report:Card: HD6870 1GBOS: Win7 x64Pixelization 12.2/3 AA bug: Yes

Guru82
I found a post at steam forum by carbonic "http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2554717&p=29311870"That is what I'll be trying when I get home from work tonight. I wonder if the dll's from the 32-bit are the same and/or work on 64-bit. I hope so, it would make my workaround patch easier for everyone if there is no need for separate 32 and 64-bit versions.
