SpartanM23
Hello everyone! It's my first time posting here and it's with a problem that i don't understand. So apparently, after modified the selection order of my mods make them all disapear from my game.At first, i wanted to install The Space Marine mod. But when i went to the location of the armor, there was nothing. So i thinked that modify his load order could fix that, but instead it "disabled" all my mods in game, like there were not active. And when i want to launch a new game, the problem is still here. Does it already happen? And how can i fix that (if i can)?
WastelandAssassin
which mods do you have installed? how have you installed these mods? which mod manager do you use?what is your load order , and how has it changed? how was it when it all worked properly (if it worked properly at all)?if it never actually worked so far , you have messed up mod installations , so maybe check up some beginner tutorials on modding FO4 , and modding using the mod manager of your choice basically , you need to provide much more concise information , and more of it , if you want anyone to help you
SpartanM23
Ok! So i use the Nexus Mod Manager to download and install my mod. 250 mods to be precise, mostly weapons and armor, but i also use new lands and settlement improvement mods. And until i change the order of the Space Marine mod (to change it from two hundred and fiftieth to fifth), everything worked well. Now, even if i try to undo the change of the load order, the mods still doesn't activate in game.
willyb9
well it's never really a good idea to switch up your load order on an existing game since you can/will mess up any mods that use scripts if their position in your load order has changed. many weapon and armor mods use scripts to add mods to leveled lists, many settlement mods use a script to inject a custom menu into the workshop menu, etc. so it can easily get screwed up, especially when you've moved a mod from the bottom of your load order to the very top. haven't used the space marine mod but i think i remember that it adds a new location to get the armor in the glowing sea? any mod you have that adds or changes game locations could be overwriting that area now so it's no longer showing up. also, 250 mods is very close to the plugin limit. is that 250 mods+DLC or just mods? cuz once you reach the limit, i think mods just kinda start turning off on their own- not 100% on that since i haven't had that happen before. hope this helps tho
SpartanM23
It's 250 mods+DLC. And before i change the order, everything worked just fine. I was currently rebuilding the Castle of the Minuteman so a little far in the game. And even if i delete the mod Space Marine, the other won't activate. Sharlikran
My concern is that you say you can't enable any mods. NMM will enable the mods properly as long as you have 61.21 or higher and the latest Fallout 4 which is 1.10.26. You can also enable mods from the in game Mods menu. Hopefully you didn't follow an old guide to set plugins.txt to read only. If you did you need to remove the read only flag from plugins.txt. SpartanM23
The mods are enabled in the NMM and in the ingame Mods menu. But they don't appear ingame. To be sure it wasn't the number of mods who created the bug, i now only active 249 mods, but the bug still persist
Sharlikran
I get that you know what you see in the game. But the programming doesn't permit this. If they are active in NMM and you have the latest Fallout 4 then it will work. Sometimes people have this issue and I just have to wonder about other things. Because about the only way your situation can actually happen is if you are running a version of Fallout 4 prior to 1.5, so like 1.4.132. Then what you describe will happen for sure because the programming changed. Bethesda changed the load order in 2016 after the CK was released so this just can't happen. So with the version of NMM and the version of Fallout 4 I mention this can't happen except for the read only flag set on plugins.txt which you should turn off as I mentioned. Well maybe it is happening but to you the mods are not active but they are active. So keep in mind that you might have all your mods active but you have not altered your INI to enable the ability to use mods. Which I wish that all mod managers would just do for users by default because that could be something that might trick you to thinking things are not active. If this video doesn't work then there is nothing else I can think of because the programming is what it is.
