LaCartel
Hello guys. Im having problem with billboard lods in long distances. Billboards goes green in long distance, backs to normal while closeby. Here is some pics. Any body got idea for fixing it ?
dubiousintent
Run "TES5LODGen". See the TESTG "VWD/LOD Overview" page for why this is needed. But be aware that some billboards are missing the necessary "_far.nif" files, and for that reason will remain bugged (red "!"). The green billboard means they are missing the specified texture file. Don't forget to toggle "ArchiveInvalidation". -Dubious- Edited October 30, 2017 by dubiousintent

LaCartel
Just tried last night to fix the problem. Using lodgen does not fix the problem. There is missing billboards as you say. My game doesnt have green billboards bug before the lod programs etc. İs there any download or fix for the shitty lod ?
dubiousintent
Please see the 'Issue: Find the source mod-index of an object in-game' entry in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide. That will at least tell you which plugin the missing textures are from. xLODGen lists them in it's log when generating LOD as well. Try the mod "LOD additions and improvements" which adds billboards. (Apparently the "sign billboards" are treated the same as the "vegetation trees" for LOD.) Be sure to see the tweaks in the STEP "Fear and Loathing" guide under "Running FNVLODGen" section. There are other mods that have different additional billboard textures. There is a tutorial on "Generating Tree LOD FNV/FO3" on the Nexus wiki if you care to try to "roll your own". You can also try using the "Tree LOD billboard creator for xLODGen" by zilav. Might want to read the thread "FNVLODGen" on the TTW site first though. Among other things I learned that the green billboards are deliberately added by xLODGen to flag that they are missing textures (sort of like the red "!" to flag missing meshes, but specific to LOD). xLODGen lists them in it's log when generating LOD. The resulting xLODGen.esp file needs to remain in your load order. More articles can be found under the "LOD Generation" subject in the wiki "Getting started creating mods using GECK" article. Edit: Additional info. -Dubious- Edited October 31, 2017 by dubiousintent

LaCartel
Just find out its not about missing textures but lod settings while messing with ''New Vegas Configator''. İf anybody knows which setting determines draw distance of billboards. Let me know please. Finded the solution. İts about ''Grids Loaded'' Means full quality textures around you. 12 grids makes the green billboards go away. But not completely. Seems like a billboard in longest distance is green again. dubiousintent
That's an association I hadn't heard of before. Thanks for reporting back. Please see the entry on "uGridsToLoad" in "TweakGuides". It says that should always be an "odd number" value. But larger values have an impact upon performance. And once you save the game with a higher setting, you cannot lower it again without starting a new game. Edit: changed "with" to "without" in last line. -Dubious- Edited November 3, 2017 by dubiousintent
