More unassigned settlers

i wish there was a simple mod which would make the max unassigned number of settlers in a settlement higher, i don't know if i am the only one with this feeling, but when i started to use mods to make the settlers population higher, settlement extended, etc, i had this desire to have some more settles just waking around, using the furniture (including the furniture on the invisible furniture mod), because after you have over 30 or so, you almost don't notice they doing any of this because the unassigned max number still caped at 4 (i think). Also, i am aware of the invisible furniture mod which you can assign the settle, but i wanted to see more lollygagging (NOT IN THE BELLS =( ). I wanted to see more shlacking (any Robbaz subs? no? ok...).

There's a cap on unassigned settlers? The vast majority of my settlers are unassigned for the "liven things up" reason you mentioned. Although I don't use any mods to increase my settler population cap.

what i mean is after you have 4+ unassigned settlers in one settlement, the radio beacon won't recruit any more settlers and the only way to add more is to transfer them from another settlement, and the thing is they tend to reallocate for another settlements, but now that you said you have no problem with that, you let me thinking: the reallocation occurs because of the number of unassigned settlers OR is because of the settlement population is to high compared to the other settlements? I am relatively new to the game and i don't know if i am being to hurried on my conclusions about how the settlement works, but i will accept any tips (i know this was suposed to be a mod sugestion, but anyway...

Hmmmn... interesting. It's been ages since I used the beacon to recruit. I got tired of the hassle and now just spawn them via "player.placeatme 20593" (there's a different # for FHarbour settlers) and fully populate a settlement all at once. I don't recall specifically not being able to beacon-recruit after a certain # of unassigned settlers, but I do remember waiting forever on occasion (one of the reasons I went to spawning) so maybe that was the problem. I've never had a settler go to another settlement but my populations vary from 9 to 23 so maybe that's too small a difference to encounter that? (I really have no idea. Most of my settlements are around 15 population, with a only few under and a few over that amount. If that makes any diff.)

But, yeah, I hear ya... imo settlements look way better when most of the population is just milling about.

Check this out, but I caution you to make sure you have a clean save. Save and exit game, reenter game and change your location to a different part of your settlement, just a few feet will do, save and exit then make a copy of that save just incase the next part boogers your game, although it shouldn't. ( here you go. player.placeatme 00020593 5 the number 5 at the end will place 5 settlers. You can change the number to whatever you like I recommend you don't go over 20 at a time, unless your testing weapons.) Hope this helps.

You have a couple of options if you bang up against the Charisma cap for settlers. You can use a mod that allows more farming per settler. I use one that increases the amount of food a settler can tend to from 6 (default) to 10. This frees up slots as you will not need so many to supply food.

As other have stated use the player.placeatme 20593 1 command. This will spawn a single settler. If you save right before you use the console command, then you will be able to reload if you get a settler you do not want.

Once you have a settler you want to keep go into shop mode and highlight that settler. There is a command for "MOVE", click on this command and you will get a drop down of all your settlements. Just click on the settlement you want that newly spawned settler to go to, and they are added to the total. Note if you have maxed out the limit of settlers based on your Charisma level, the settlement will not show up. I recommend being in the settlement that you want to add settlers to and doing the console command in that settlement. Then they do not have to travel, and will be right there. They will immediately start to sandbox.

Good luck.
