KOTR Trying to get the Restoration Mod to work

Hello all. Been trying to get the restoration mod to work and I seem to be messing up. I tried 2 to install correctly but game seem to stop working afterwards. So I watch the extract files and discovered that several files ending in mdx where not extracting at all. I tried finding a program that could unzip them. The couple I could find that seem to say they could extract them never manage to do so. I know I'm a noob working mod and installing them so not sure what the hell I'm doing wrong. Any advise or direction where to look would be much appericated.

7zip usually extracts zipped files for Windows Operating Systems. If you are using a different OS you may have to look for another app that can unzip a zip file. I don't know if 7zip works on other OS's?

 

Every MDL file should have an MDX file to it, in order to be interacted with during game play. The MDL and MDX are used to make the characters, lightsabers, blasters, and any other visible 3D items in game. They very typically get installed into the "Kotor - override folder" along with the MDL file. If the extractor missed them you can copy them in, or drag and drop them into the "override folder" once they are extracted.
