[LE] Using non-vanilla textures and bodies on custom followers

Recommended Posts

I've been trying to make a custom follower in the creation kit and I know the main steps (make it in game, SPF character name etc.) but when I finished assigning traits and everything and went to render it, the head and body textures were completely different, with the body using the ones I'm running (cbbe body and demonaic texture) while the head looked as though it was using vanilla textures and looked nothing like what I made. Not sure what to do, only getting my feet wet in making my own mods.

By render it, do you mean trying in-game? In the Creation Kit press Ctrl + F4 while highlighting the npc in the actors tab if it's the dark face/black face/brown face bug you got. Otherwise I'd need more info, the title makes me confused. A picture perhaps? =D

Yeah, sorry about that (the screenshots might look a bit weird I had to crop them a bit since I'm not quite sure what I'm allowed to show such as nude body models)

Here's how she's supposed to look: https://i.gyazo.com/e8d0e932af8c7c82d35363be3a5b80a3.png

Here's how she looks in game: https://i.gyazo.com/cd3f1ab3ecb7943b683bc05666b220a5.png

Here's what she looks like in the creation kit:

And yeah I exported the face data but it still looks like that :/

I suppose it has to do with that you use racemenu or what that is on the first pic. I have only used vanilla heads so can't help much there. But must be some other process involved because I have never seen the heads be differently colored in the CK. Closest I've gotten is vanilla hair instead of the one I wanted.

Apologies for the late response, didn't have my computer

i can try to make the follower for you, also a guide how i make followers correctly, if you want

I'd appreciate a different guide, but I'd rather make it myself as I'm trying to learn how to. This is the guide I was following for this: https://levelskip.com/rpgs/Hot-to-Turn-Your-Skyrim-Character-into-a-Follower

About that guide, i think it's only for make 100% vanilla followers only.

I was about to make a guide, but i remembered i followed this guide XD, for what i can see you are using Racemenu, here is the guide i followed

But the video is missing some things, so you probably will get the same issues i had, but i know how to fix them, when you get a issue just ask me  .
