ShadowDW
I am unsure if these questions are in the right place or not, so please forgive me if they are (and move this post if it is deemed necessary, please). Having said that, I am, obviously, doing this quest (for the first time, if you can believe it) and ran into an issue where the Bloodskal Blade is not emitting the energy wave that it is supposed to do. Yes, I am aware of the horizontal and vertical power swings I am supposed to perform, and I am doing them, but the blade is not emitting the energy wave when performing any of the power moves (moving side to side, the vertical, or the backwards power moves). So, before I go reverting saves, or doing anything drastic lol, I have 2 questions I'd like to ask. 1) Does anyone know if any of the mods I have installed, are affecting the Bloodskal Blade in any way, or perhaps are preventing the effect from emitting from the blade itself? Mod List 2) Does anyone know if there is perhaps a minimum Stamina requirement for the effect to happen? I have 216 Stamina at L59 (Battlemage ... or AxeMage, as I like to call her :P) and I'm wondering if because I am that high level, if perhaps there may be a minimum Stamina requirement for the blade's effect. A) Is there a way that someone can possibly look into the details of the Bloodskal Blade and see if there are requirements for it, or its' effects, please? Again, my apologies if this is in the wrong place. Being as this is the first time I have done this particular quest, this is obviously the first time I have encountered this issue. I did Google it, and I have tried all of the suggested fixes (aside from loading previous save): Dual-casting healing spells; Dropping it and picking it back up, switching back and forth from 1st person and 3rd person views. I am open to any other suggestions is anyone has any. So before I go loading a previous save (which is not really a problem), can anyone answer the above 2 questions please? Thank you for any help anyone can provide.
twowolves80
There are reported bugs on the wiki that sound familiar... If one transforms into a Vampire Lord while wielding the blade, there is a chance that, after reverting back into human form, the sword will no longer produce the energy blast it usually does. (Sheathed or in hand, this will happen once the Dragonborn attempts to produce the blast.) To fix this, drop the weapon and pick it back up. As for what mods affect it, just open ones you suspect in tesvedit and look at which records they edit. In fact, here is the wiki.Otherwise, have you run wryebash? Cleaned the masters? There is a way to look up which record is overwriting/conflicting with it in TESVEdit, but I'm not sure how.

There is a way to look up which record is overwriting/conflicting with it in TESVEdit, but I'm not sure how. None of that applies for me. I am aware of the wiki site(s) and have gone through each of the possible issues, and none of the possible answers work (for me, at least.... and I tried quite a few). I am also not a vampire with my character, so that does not apply to this situation. I do not use WryeBash and so no, I have not used it. I use NMM and LOOT, along with SSEEdit, and have been through the files for nearly 5 days straight. My mods are clean, aside from the Issues With My DLC .esm's which could possibly be the issue, but after looking through the files in SSEEdit, the only issues that arise are that of the dragon saddles (which does not cause an issue in-game) and ironically, arrows, of which the energy blast that comes from the Bloodskal Blade is classified as. I have asked repeatedly for possible ways to fix it, with no responses. If you believe you have a possible solution, please, I'm all ear... eh, eyes, rather. Anyways, someone was able to get me a SOLUTION (being as I am on the PC) to get past the door, so my character and save data now survive! A monumental thank you goes out to that person for saving Britania Manamus!
twowolves80
Well, I'm glad you got a solution in the end, and bonus, even posted said solution. So many people will be like, I solved it! And then never say how. lolAs for WryeBash, everyone should know how to use it. Really, you only need to open it up. That's it. I use what I see in WryeBash to fix the issues with oranges boxes in TESVEdit.Happy Modding!:)
