GDA3141
Dear Sir or Madam, I have played through fallout 4 on my PC using various mods / character creations and LOOT for order of mods several times, with minimal troubles, in most cases it was a load order. However, during this game, I recently encountered an inability to initiate any conversations, trade with settlers, vendors, and only can only converse with quest line characters. If anyone may have any insight on a possibly fix I would be extremely grateful, I would hate to start over another game because I have built a real cool sanctuary and red rocket base. I appreciate anyone's attention to this matter, suggestions or advice. If possibly someone experienced the same or a similar problem, at least share it. Deleted3258978User
I experienced a similar problem and it was due to walking away from an NPC that was trying to converse with me, so it caused most/all dialogue to be bugged and inaccessible until I found the NPC that I walked away from and restarted/finished the dialogue. Note that it doesn't have to be leaving mid-conversation, it could happen with an NPC dialogue where they approach to talk and if you were running around or whatever you may have missed it. It's a bummer but the only thing that could be done (at least at the time I experienced my issue) was to go around and talk to anyone that came to mind that could have possibly caused the issue. Start with companions, then NPCs associated with current quests, and go from there. I am not 100% positive if this is your issue, but it sounds similar to what I experienced so hopefully this helps. alicethered
If you are useing the pc, the easiest way is to open the consol with the ~ key then click on the actor that you want to trade with and type Openactorcontainer 1 . As a side note for items that are hidden like the pip boy you can use the command Showinventory 1 . Like if you wanted to do this on the player ... since the players refrence is 14 you could type 14.Showinventory 1 . Other usefull commands are EquipItem (caps sensitive i don't know why...), additem, and removeitem. And its use on the player would be like:14.additem (item ref number)14.EquipItem (item ref number)14.removeitem (item ref number) Now if you want to make a settler permently trade with you (like a child which is set to not trade... or a settler that you have used actorrecycle on) There is probubly a " setpv " command for that but I don't know it.... The commands I do know are setpv bCommandable 1setpv bAllowMove 1setpv bAllowCaravan 1setpv ownedbyplayer true On a side not someone told me that setpv bCommandable 1 makes them tradable you just have to resurrect the character afterwards then save and restart or teleport away and back. Now for no actors responding most like just restart an old save, check mod list order, and try actorrecycle. As a final note if you assign someone as a "Doctor" the recycleactor function doen't work unless you assign them to something else, also using resurrect on somebody that is still alive will reset their inventory and force them to wear clothes the had in the begining.
