zappa45
I have seen some remarkable mods for Morrowind and Oblivion out there so I thought I would ask and see if some of you talented modders might create some better Ayleid/Elven and Dwarven chests. I am working on an Ayleid house mod and the selection of casks and chests are just not very appealing to me. At the very least I think golden and jeweled and even carved casks, coffers, and chests would be very cool. Most of the chests in the game are drab and uninteresting. I have seen some mods that have created some fantastic Asian casks and chests so I thought it would be great to have more of a Fantasy Styled aproach to the chests added to the game. There are so many mods for great clothes(Slof's) and armors but no kingly containers to store them in. If someone out there could either make a mod of this or tell me where to start on such a project for myself I would be greatly appreciative. However, I do not have a good rendering program that can create what I am invisioning. I would welcome any feedback- Thanks

zappa45
I'll have to dig around for some pictures. I have some old Fantacy art stuff with several examples of jewelled containers. I would appreciate any attempt at creating such a mod and you could use whatever artistic liscense you wish. I had thought that if you can render the basic shape of the chest then you could add different metalic colors(ie.gold, silver, copper) or mabe diferent colored marble (blue, green, obsidian, etc.) Then one could add hardware elements like metal bolsters, hinges and locks, even handles. At that point one could then go back and add jewels of any shape and size to top it off. I would have no idea how to add carvings etc. Then you could save the whole in the rendering window so you would have your basic item template. Today I was looking around and I found the Amber and Madness Armor Molds and I thought that they would make great chests if one could use the NIF AND DDS files to alter a chest. I tried to do that but couldn't get the window in the chest's icon and NIF section to find the dds and nif. I probably will have to extract the files from Oblivion somehow. Thanks for the intrest and I am sure that I would be happy with whatever you could come up with. :thanks:
