Favorite DLC?

Which is your most (and least) favorite of the DA:O DLC's?

I know Awakenings is an obvious answer. It's the longest, most detailed of the DLCs, by far. But, I'm going to cast the first vote for Return to Ostagar. When my party encounters King Cailan on the bridge, it's heart-wrenching. Don't leave Alistair in camp for this one.

As for my least favorite, it's the Darkspawn DLC. I've never played it. Have zero interest in role-playing a darkspawn who's out to kill the last Gray Warden.

So, which are your most (and least) favorites? And why?

As for my least favorite, it's the Darkspawn "The DLC Which Must Not Be Named".

[Which I confess to having played. To get the achievement. <hangs head in shame> ]

TSP is my favourite. But like DAA, so integral to the game that most don't think of it as DLC. After that I'd say LS, because it's so completely independent of the main storyline. It's truly a minigame of its own. WH was a totally satisfactory conclusion for me, but having done it (and explored all three options) the replay value dropped in a hurry.

My least favourite, (that I'm willing to name) is GoA. That's partly due to a personal/technical issue. The lower-end monitors I had for many, many years did not make the difference between the "red" glow and the "purple" glow very distinct. Spent hours being frustrated the first time through just trying to figure out why I couldn't get anywhere. Have yet to have a go with my new Dell G-Sync.

- First place: Return to Ostagar. I like the King's armour and Maric's blade - even if having the wrong color for the runs - and Cailan's shield. Actually, I love to wear the shield with the crest of Alistair's house myself. Makes me feel being a part of his family. And I enjoy Alistair keeping company with me. In addition, I found it interesting to see the same area with snow.

- Last place: I didn't play the Darkspawn DLC neither. Well, I started it and killed poor Teagan. But it had been too disgusting to be dark spawn myself, which had been the enemy all the time. And I wouldn't kill Alistair - not for all equipment in the world!

********************************************************************************

- The golems have been too hard for me. I missed Alistair.

- Awakening would have been great - almost as long and deep as a second part of the game, but I missed Alistair.

- In general, I don't like DLCs without Alistair.

TSP is my #2 favorite. I thought the developers put a lot of thought into Shale's background. And (sorry Alistair lovers), I think Shale has the most unique and interesting personality of any DA:O character.

Darkspawn Chronicles wasn't my cup of tea but it was kind of interesting to see "what would have happened" without your character in the picture. I don't mean the darkspawn invasion itself, but the way the things that the foes and friends of the Gray Warden managed to achieve before the fall of Denerim are revealed by codex entries or just by their presence or absence. Like Alistair hardening himself and doing Morrigan's ritual, siding with the werewolves over the Dalish, and choosing to keep the Anvil of the Void in operation, among other things.

Least favorite would be any and all of the bonus items that just appear in your inventory with no explanation. It can always be roleplayed around when you play human aristocrat or dwarf noble, but for the other origins it's harder to explain why you have so many magic items as a level 1 scrub. I do like most of these items, though, but I'd much rather if they simply appeared somewhere in the world for the taking. Same for the reward items for completing the various bonus campaign DLCs.

Favorite, outside of Awakening, would be Warden's Keep. It's just too bad you can't actually reclaim it and get a cleaned interior. With plaques and mannequins to display all your trophies. Yeah, yeah, there's a blight going on, you don't have the time to play house. Nevertheless, it'd be cool.
