Dystopiana
Ok, so I'm completely new to modding...closest I've come before is a few short campaigns in Neverwinter nights...>.> So I thought that since I want to try modding at least in the "Making new spaces, new places, more areas for friends and others to poke around in" sense...that I would start small...a small house, out in the rift, somewhere between Ivarstead and Riften for my little normal not-dragonborn alchemist merchant girl. Well as far as I can tell every thing else that I've done (placing the house, making the interior, putting items inside, and navmeshing, connecting the doors, etc.) is good...it's just...>.> the Lighting seems to be wrong >.< In the creation kit when I hit the toggle lights button it looks good (except one dark corner) So I think "Woots! I'm set!" But when I go there...it's completely awash with light. As in...it looks like it does when everything is lighted in the Creation Kit. >.< I don't know how to fix it...or what I've done wrong...but I kinda want this to work...so I can start learning more...and applying what I've already learned on spaces bigger than a one room farm house >.< Edit: Nevermind >.< found it after a few more poking around...and now I feel a little foolish x.x Edited March 14, 2012 by Dystopiana
ch0k3h0ld
So this might seem a little obvious, but have you worked through the lighting tutorial on the Creation Kit website? It shows you how to adjust both brightness and the effect radius. I'm not a real expert at this yet, but it sounds to me like you might have the effect radius too large on some of your lights and perhaps you have more lights than you need to do the job. The CK does a poor job showing you what the lights are going to look like in the game, although I generally find that the in game lighting is much dimmer than the lights in the CK. So, your mileage may vary. Good luck. Oh, and don't forget to adjust the depth bias to get rid of the lines. Dystopiana
Looking back on it now...I forgot/spaced out/got ahead of myself/whatever, about the last step on that very tutorial you pointed me back at >.< turns out I was completely missing Lighting Template and ImageSpace...adding those seems to have fixed my problem >.< thanks for trying to help me v.v even if I did figure it out probably at the same time you were hitting post @.@
