Quest Issues

So I am doing the "Trouble in Skyrim" quest and it tells me to kill the bandit leader on the boat. When I get to the boat she is already dead and it will not let me finish the quest. Not sure if I killed her on a previous go round or what.

 

Also

 

On the "Repairing the Phial" quest I killed the Forsworn and it gave me the option to take the Briarheart, but it will not register in the quest that I have it. I even found another heart somewhere else and grabbed it and the quest will not register that I have them.

 

 

Any ideas on how to finish these?

assuming you play this on pc , you can just progress the quests via console commands

 

for the first quest , if you have the corpse of the bandit leader , maybe if you resurrect it and kill it , it would work

for the second , maybe if you remove the briarhearts from your inventory , and pick one up , maybe it will trigger the quest to update

 

both of these should be solvable with the setstage command , if you know how to use it
