Skyrim crashes when launching from MO, I've tried everything

Okay first of all this is my first post so if I'm doing anything incorrectly please tell me and I'm to too experienced with modding.

 

Anyways, I'm having issues launching Skyrim from Mod Organizer whether it's SKSE or just regular Skyrim. I've tried everything I can and look through tons of other forum posts to no avail. This is my third time reinstalling everything with MO from scratch, I'm ready to give up entirely.

well , what exactly have you done with Skyrim?

are you using any mods with it?

 

let's start from the very basics . after you installed the game , did you try to run it from the original executable?

if so , does it work properly? have you tried starting a new game? this is just to see that the game was installed properly , as it could have some bugs

if the game works as it should , what have you done through MO? have you installed just SKSE , and tried running the game? or have you tried installing some mods?

also , are we talking about the original (2011) Skyrim or Special Edition? because the latter has some other problems

After installing the original Skyrim(2011) I ran it to check and was perfectly fine. Then I installed MO with SKSE and a bunch of mods. But it doesn't matter If I'm launching SKSE or just regular Skyrim through MO, it still crashes right after the Bethesda logo but if I launch regular Skyrim or SKSE outside of MO it's perfectly fine.

well , I see quite a few plugins disabled in your load order

this is most important considering the end of your load order , where the last few plugins (mostly patches) aren't loading into the game

the problem is that Bethesda game have a 255 plugin limit (with the main game at position 0 , you can add 254 extra plugins , which include the DLCs as you can see in your load order)

so if all of these plugins are needed , you need to remove a few mods to get your load order into a proper length (and to be honest , there really is no reason to reach the plugin limit)

there may also be conflicting plugins in your load order (plugins that you should choose one or the other , rather than have both)

so this is really up to you to troubleshoot your own load order , but I would recommend first deciding on a few mods to remove , then visiting the pages of all remaining mods , reading the descriptions and making sure they are installed properly

after you clean up your load order , maybe your game will work properly

 

as a side note , try disabling all mods and starting up the game through MO

If the game loads up properly with both the normal launcher and SKSE , the problem is mod related

If however you can't load the game through SKSE , maybe you haven't installed it correctly , or you have the wrong version somehow , or something of that sort

so do this basic check first , to at least establish that SKSE is set up properly
