CTD on save

I've been getting fairly regular crashes to desktop (skyrim has stopped working) once I hit the save button. I don't use quicksave, I've turned off all auto-saves. I'm using a simple save hotkey mod.

It's not every time that it happens. I'd crash and re-load, then save and all will be well, then after a few more saves, or say, 20 - 30 minutes of playing, the same will happen. Some times I'd get a crash on saving, and will not be able to save anymore. In those cases I use the save script cleaner by Hadoram, and after cleaning, all is well again, but again it crashes at some point.

I also noticed that if the game is to crash at saving, it still creates a .tmp file in the Saves folder.

The crashes are seemingly random. Does not matter if I'm in a cell or outside, in or out of combat etc.

 

Playing on Win7 x64, i5, 8gb, gtx750ti, 100gb+ free space.

Running the Legendary edition with the latest version of SKSE.

Game is located in D:\Program files (not x86).

 

I'm also using Mod Organizer, I've recently migrated from NMM, and those crashes are not a new occurrence. Been having them for quite a long time, in my past playthrough with NMM, as well as in my current one with MO. I've used LOOT in the past, with a bit of manual tinkering afterwards but to no avail.
Tried to manually arrange a load order, and I'm playing with a manual one right now, it is still crashing.
