CrinsomArcher
Hey guys, I'm looking to upgrade my gaming rig in the near future and I'll naturally want to port FNV over and install all my favorite mods. I was hoping to spare myself the trouble of finding and redownloading every single mod I had installed, but my NMM's Mod Installation backup is telling me that my (C:) drive is full even though I'm trying to make my backup on the (F:) drive. If I just manually copy and paste all the files in my NMM mod directory (E:\Games\Nexus Mod Manager\FalloutNV\Mods) for me, that should be enough to back up all the actual mod files themselves for transfer over later, right? I'm fine with reinstalling them. On a side note, I finally got an ENB to work with my game, only to find that my graphics card had finally reached its limits and I was barely getting 20 fps. Assuming I backup all the files/folders in the FNV root directory, ENB files and all, there shouldn't be any reason why my configuration wouldn't work, right? I'm just going off my intuition here, but hopefully some of you guys can help me. Thanks!
dubiousintent
In general, your suppositions are correct. However, recommend you first "defragment" all your drives before copying any file over. This will make your copied files more contiguous (read faster) when you do so. It's apparent that NMM requires some space on your C: drive, so you need to free up some. At least 10% of the drive total as free space is required on any drive. See the article "7 Ways to Free Up Hard Disk Space on Windows". Since EVERYTHING tries to install to the "C:" drive by default, seriously look at moving your "system restore" files to the drive with the most free space on it instead. If you have the disk space, you don't have to copy your NMM "Mods" folder to a new copy of NMM immediately. You can just copy them to any other folder, and then move them into the newly installed NMM Mods folder later. -Dubious- Edited November 16, 2017 by dubiousintent
