ayrton10
Hey all I'm having this really weird issue on fallout 4 when launching from f4se I get this message from the cmd window: SHGetFolderPath 00000005 failed (result = 80070005 lasterr = 00000005)Assertion failed in IDebugLog.cpp (64): SUCCEEDED(err) (code = FFFFFFFF80070005 (-2147024891)) I haven't played Fallout 4 in a while so i decided to update all my mods and F4se and LOOT (mod organised that i use) Does anyone have this issue or know the fix for it? I've almost done everything except uninstalling the games because i googled around and it still did not fix the issue. I'm running on Windows 10 pro, the newest update with game dvr and such disabled. Edited November 17, 2017 by ayrton10

ayrton10
Update 2: Apperantly the recent Windows 10 update f***ed up with windows defender and was doing something to files not being able to be written on or some stuff like that, installed avast antivirus and it's working fine. looks like the fix for this is to install a decent antivirus

Simple fix, no don't disable antivirus although that works too. Under Virus & Threat Protection setting is Controlled folder access, click "Allow an app through Controlled folder access" and navigate to f4se_loader.exe in the Fallout4 root directory. Adding an exclusion is for the antivirus and apparently controlled folder access is separate.
p2benjamin
Thanks for your hint about controlled folder access. I have been having a lot of toothing pains setting up my new PC. Too bad that the Ransomware protection screws up the Documents folder that also contains the game saves and INI files. It would have be a good thing to have on just in case. DeepThought62
Thanks a million for this info.I've spent 2 days trying to a) find the cause, b) find a solution (none worked or explained the issue because the threads were too old) c) work out how to fix it. As was said, Bloody Windows has blocked my save folder. Don't know how to solve THAT problem. 100's of hours ingame down the swanee.Just had an idea, will disable Ransomware and see if I can recover saves. One last problem, launching with F4SE causes game to run windowed and I can't find how to fix THAT! THIS may work.https://www.reddit.com/r/f4se/comments/9m71bn/game_keeps_launching_in_windowed_mode/
