triumph12
Hi all, Whenever I am in a snow area, and the slope is slanted, I get a black pixelation effect on the snow. It's like there is a line of MSpaint-style black spray paint overlaying the snow. When I move forward, the line stays in the same position (that is, these specks are not *attached* to the snow and instead act as an annoying overlay). Anyone else have the same issue? I've adjusted almost every shadow setting available, none have affected the problem. http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/3408/snowpixelbug.jpghttp://img593.imageshack.us/img593/2465/snowpixelbug2.jpg
ProjectVRD
My first line of thought draws me towards GPU drivers. I cannot speak for nVidia, but Catalyst 12.1 for AMD is very good. Minf you, if it is only in those highlighted area's then I gotta be honest, it is extremely difficult to notice the problem. triumph12
Sorry, it's very difficult to show the problem with screenshots. Here's a fraps video of it (6 mb -- mp4 format): http://www.sendspace.com/file/axjvim Gfx: Nvidia 8800 GTS 512Driver version 295.
triumph12
I seemed to have solved my own problem. Thank you for the thought about GPU drivers, it was indeed a problem with the driver, sort of. SOLUTION: Turn off Ambient Occlusion in Nvidia control panel (it had been on "performance" before). Guess I'll have to settle with less "ambience." Edited March 15, 2012 by triumph12
