UR84N_54MUR41
I recently followed all the guides I could find and installed Ren's beauty Pack almsot perfectly. I have the eyes, faces, tattos, bodies, etc. of Ren's Mystic Elves. I cannot get the hairs to load, though. I have placed the large number of hair files inside the Oblivion/Data/Textures and Oblivion/Data/Meshes folders, inside Oblivion/Data/ folder, and in Oblivion/ folder. STILL there are no hairs. I can select and scroll through them, but nothign shows up. I don't get to the tunnel part of the dungeon, I have only tried the beginning where you make your character the ifirst time. I would LARGELY appreciate any help to get me past this last block. :wallbash: :thanks: UR84N
Vagrant0
Make sure that only one of Ren's mods is active. If I remember correctly, it comes with 2 .esps, one is the race and the hair, while the other is just the hair. Enabling both will create a conflict which will make the hair unavailable or bugged. Additionally, if you have any other mods which add hair, there will be a conflict with those as well. Please do a search next time, or in this case, read the comments for the mod, this is a common issue with the mod, or anything containing this race. UR84N_54MUR41
Thank you for your response. I do not have any other hair mods. I did read through half the pages of the mod's comments, and none of the directions were clear enough, or helped. I am going to test this right now to see if it works, I will deactivate the hair_only mod and see how that works.... Ok, i just tried it and it's not working. I have the Ren head, Ears, and Eyes files throughout the Oblivion/ folder.I have the textures and meshes for the eyes ears and hairs throughought the oblivion/ fodler. In the Oblivion/Data folder i have all the heads, HAIRS, eyes, ears, and body data files everywhere. In the Oblivion/Data/Textures i have all the hairs textures data files In the Oblivion/Data/meshes I have the hair meshes data files I'm lost as to what I need to do next, and I've been working on this for weeks.I'm willing to work extensively with anyone, and try any trick. THanks again.
bben46
It might help us to troubleshoot if you post a load order. Also, are you using OBSE or OBMM? - OBMM is good for getting a true load order as the list displayed by the games 'Data' list is not always in the order loaded. UR84N_54MUR41
Ok. Sounds good. I have great news!I have solved the issue with the Ren's Hair not showing up. Turns out I just wasn't placing things properly, and I put in too many mods at once, yadda yadda. I activated my backup files, and presto, I'm back to Vanilla version. I started again, and have the hairs working perfectly. I decided not to go with Ren's Beauty Package, but with the Lineage II elves (which uses ren's hair). Of course, now that that is solved, I have another issue: the game crashes. I had uninstalled oblivion a long time ago, and forgot why, so I put it back on recently. However, when I'm playing, the screen goes into a fuzzy mod, where I must use CNTRL+ALT+DELETE to get back to the desktop. I then can go back into oblivion by maximizing it back to the screen. However, as soon as it comes back up, the mouse won't move. Sounds are still operable, and I can still bring down the Command menu (via ~), but otherwise the game is frozen on the pause or inventory menu. I hope this doesn't discourage you, but I am ready and willing to go headfirst into this problem, and get oblivion running again!I tried operating on just Vanilla Oblivion, but it still crashes. I went through a ful uninstall and reinstall, and it still crashes. I've put all my cosmetic mods back on, and I'm ready to solve this. I'll list the new mod load order I have. I do use Oblivion Mod Manager, only to select the urgency of the mod load. I prefer to manually install my mods. check- Oblivion.esmunchecked- Horse Combat Master. esmcheck- DLCHorseArmor.espcheck-Custom Race Fix.espcheck-Orrery.espcheck-Realistic Force medium.espcheck-Realistic Magic Force High.espcheck-DLCS Spell Tomes.espcheck-Deadly Reflex Timed Block+no other changes.espcheck-Streamline 2 .espunchekced-Mounted Spellcasting Deadly Reflex.espcheck- Dude Wheres my Horse.espcheck-StockArmorClothingForExnems.espcheck-Elves of Lineage II.espcheck-midas Spells.espcheck- Deadly reflex.espcheck-Apachii Goddess Store.esp I haven't reordered them yet because I JUST put them on.Ok. I'm running version 1.2, and I've included my recent DxDiag to the post. By the way, all of the mods are fully operational. But the game still crashes after about 5-10 minutes. Really irksome. Thank you!
bben46
There is a newer version of streamline available - V3.1 available here: http://obse.silverlock.org/download/mods/S...1_Open_Beta.exe And a patch, http://obse.silverlock.org/download/mods/S...Beta_Patch1.exe I don't remember what the problem was, but I removed Streamline 2.0 soon after I installed it. Streamline does make changes in the Oblivion.ini on the fly. This can change visual effects while playing. As with any beta program, back up before installing it. UR84N_54MUR41
Wait, wait, wait.So should I get the new version of streamline, and the patch, or just take it off?I only put streamline in there to even out all the mods I'd put in. however, ever since the game's combat has been choppy and, well...not pretty. I was trying to show off the game to a friend, and he was commenting about how choppy the fighting was. Too true. The chop-rate is terrible in my game. I just took Streamline out, and I'm going to test the game later. I don't have time now, but I am anxious to try it. Thanks again =]
bben46
I probably wasn't very clear on my post. First, remove all of your mods and be sure the game doesn't crash without them. Then add in mods one or two at a time and test to be sure they work. If the game crashes without mods, adding mods will make it worse. I only mentioned streamline because I had a problem with the ver2.
UR84N_54MUR41
ok. I'm now taking everything off, and initiating my backup file. If it sinks or swims, I'll let you know.I have a backup of Oblivion/Data with the mods installed, so I won't have to go through the process again :PStreamline isn't in that backup. Ok. I'll test it and get back to you! Kudos to you, man.
