zazz825
I've been wanting to try out Oblivion Reloaded for a long time, but after looking at Bevilex's list, it seems a bit insane to have that many mods on my installation just for graphics. I already have a ton of mods dedicated to the playthrough I have planned and adding another hundred or so seems time-consuming and extreme. His "Stability Mods, OBSE Plugins, and Fixes and Patches" section, sure, all of those should definitely be used regardless, and I'm not completely opposed to using QTP, but once you're past the "Base Texture Packs" section, things start to get a little excessive. Do I actually need to be that detailed about it? Because frankly, I don't care too much about "Better Ropes" or the book jacket retextures, or small details like that. I'm fine with the vanilla ones. I just want the world overall to be a bit sharper and prettier, as well as maintaining reasonable performance. Typically in the past, I accomplished this by simply using a few smaller texture replacers like Grass Overhaul and Rock Retexture, plus the Oblivion Character Overhaul and Oblivion Graphics Extender. But I've seen recently that OBGE is outdated, and that using Oblivion Reloaded and ENB is much better. What I'm really asking here is: Would I be able to go through the list, pick out 20 or so of the mods I feel are most important for my tastes, and then install Oblivion Reloaded and ENB? Is Oblivion Reloaded and ENB going to fail completely if I don't use everything Bevilex has listed? If not, is my game going to look weird somehow, like obvious patches of higher texture quality contrasted with the lower vanilla ones?
muffinz10
Not at all. I did exactly what you're proposing. Oh, and since you're not a big graphics junky you might as well do what I did and install "CTD and Memory patch ENBOOST" rather than an ENB. It mentions it in the guide.
