IAmDarkPhoenix
So there are a couple of follower mods which I found Nexus that are anywhere from 3-4 years old that are broken followers. For one reason or another they don't work. But some of them I found had some very interesting concepts. Anyhow, in my attempts to learn Creation kit (thanks to many of you for the help) I've tinkered with them, found out why they weren't working, and sorta fixed them (yay!). That being said, Modding is all about sharing the wealth. I'm seeing that moreso now that I've started making my own, etc. I would like to share "back" these repaired/modded mods to the authors so they can be distributed with the rest of the community. So I contacted the mod authors in order to get their approval or denials. However, I don't think they have 1) been active on the site in a long time and/or 2) haven't responded to the emails I have sent. So that being said, what do I do? Do I just give up and keep hoarding these to myself or is there some sort of process I can do to give these corrected versions back?
freddark
I would think that: 1) For followers that have anything custom (non-vanilla assets) you really do need the permission of the original authors. 2) If a follower is based on interesting (but broken) concepts such as behaviours, schedules, etc, I would say it is essentially a new mod if you fixed it. Just give it a new face and in the mod description clearly states what this is based on and you should be fine. 3) If the only thing wrong with the original mod is the face, forget it. Not interested. Maybe a moderator can pitch in? Happy modding.
