StarstormGamma
I have used Nexus Mod Manager for about a year and I loved it. Despite my ability with computers Nexus Mod Manager made it much easier to install mods for my games. Eventually I got bored of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas and decided to take a break. Now I come back, and now this situation hasn't been ideal. Some Fallout mods that I install with the manager work just fine, but others come up with this "___ can't be added" blurb. I never got it before, previously when a mod didn't work I was at least able to install the mod and see if the game crashed or not, but now I can't even do that. What's wrong? dubiousintent
Did you install Steam to it's default location? If so, please see the wiki "Installing Games on Windows Vista+" article for why the original default Steam behavior of installing games to the "C:\Program Files" folder tree was bad (they learned better, and don't do that any more); and why "disabling UAC and running as Administrator" is NOT sufficient, with instructions how to move it. This is the single most important thing you can do to fix and protect yourself against problems in the future. As much of a PITA as that is, it's never going to be any easier than now. Please see the 'Restoring to "Vanilla"' section of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article as well. Assuming you are running Win10, please see the 'About your choice of "mod manager"' entry of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article. Other older suggestions have been that the problem may be that you don't have sufficient free disk space on the drive where NMM is set to use the "temp folder", or that your "anti-virus" is interfering, or that the problem only occurs with packages in "Zip" or "Rar" format and that repackaging them as "7Zip" will let them install. -Dubious- Edited November 22, 2017 by dubiousintent
