Conflict between 6 mods

So I have a mod called 'Dwemer Egg'. Usually works OK, but one user started getting CTDs.... but only if 6 mods are loaded together:

The Dwemer Egg, Black Marsh, The Reserve, Elvenwood, Moon Path, Royal Mansion

It's easily reproducible. It goes away if ANY of the mods are deactivated.

Using both the CreationKit and TESVsnip, all mods look clean. There are a few conflicts, but none between all 6:

NAVI - all of them (but every mod has this reference)

PlayerBookShelfContrainer - blackmarsh and reserve

A collision marker - blackmarsh and reserve

NobleChest01 - elvenwood/reserve

NobleWardrobe01 - elvenwood/reserve

AlftandWorld - royal/dwemer (neither mod actuall modifies this area, but the CreationKit keeps marked it as edited)

Disabling any one mod fixes the crash. Enabling all six brings the crash back.

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this further? I have a few other users also reporting CTD, but this is the only one that was reproducible.

Are you saying that the objects are edited or that the references are edited? Like are the characteristics of PlayerBookShelfContainer edited everywhere in Tamriel? Or is one instance of this shelf (one reference) repositioned in a room differently by two mods?

I heard a troubling report that Skyrim is not very moddable like Oblivion was. In Oblivion you could have five conflicting mods rearranging the furniture of your house. No problem. The last one in the load order would win, and decide where your furniture was placed.

I have heard that in Skyrim, you can't have two mods editing the same area or you get a CTD. So if you had two mods editing the furniture in your house, you are doomed and will have CTDs. You most certainly can't have five mods editing the same thing like in Oblivion.

The Reserve looks like your most widespread and conflict-prone mod. (Might I even say "dirty?") Why don't you modclean out all your reserve edits except for NAVI and play-test again?

Sorry, bad explanation. A single instance is modified by the mods listed... with only 5 of the mods working, this double editting doesn't cause any crash-to-desktop.

Only the Dwemer Egg is mine. The other 5 are all different authors. I guess I'll just start randomly deleting branches from my ESP until the crashes stop, and then try to go from there.

i have found that the CTD for editing the same object to be more or less a crapshoot on if it will happen. I have loaded a mod and its backup I was using to mess around with on accident, both heavily modded a vanilla building moving the same items but often to different locations in the cell. load order took precedence like Oblivion, then later i revisited the cell and CTD. reload the game with both mods running still and no CTD for 3 times i entered and exited the cell then CTD again.

I would say a CTD will happen but maybe not everytime you encounter the object that is in conflict.

Interesting .. been fooling around with quest mods for a couple days and have found that can have some load fine but then get to a certain point and they become exclusive .. i.e. if load one that mods the external world can play but then load the next and get a CTD when try to load a save. If remove the prior one then can load the one that caused CTD and can play. Never ran into this in FO3, FNV or Oblivion .. still trying to find root cause. Have commented in more detail in DoV mod, got 11 quest mods running at this point try the 12th and CTD. Ah well more fun looking for problems then playing right, right ah NO i guess.

Hope you get this sorted out. One word of advice: be careful with mod "cleaning." Most edits in a mod are there on purpose. Start randomly deleting parts of an esp using outside tools, and you are liable to make matters worse instead of better.

Know what you're taking out, and why.

also, try and find some commonality between crashes. Is there a bookshelf of the sort that the mods changed inside every interior where you crash? Do you only crash indoors, outdoors or both?

Open the toolset and check to make sure mods don't change the vanilla book shelf. Its ok to use it, but to change it? Bad idea, since so many areas use it already.
