A few random questions

Hi, I just had some questions about a few things. I realize that this post may be a little misplaced, I already posted my questions on the Rules part of the forum. See the thing is I got issued a couple strikes for being careless and the moderators got a little stressed out about answering my questions, so they banned me from posting on that thread or on the subject of the cause of my strikes. I swear on my life, quote, SWEAR ON MY LIFE, that i did not intend to be rude, disrespectful, troublemaking, annoying, or any other negative thing by asking these questions. I really tried to be as kind as possible. Neither was I trying to plead in any way with the moderators to get my strikes removed, as I stated more than once. I'm just trying to get some answers, thats all. Honest. I would very much appreciate it if someone other than a moderator that has had some sort of experience with these strikes could give me a few hints, for I have been told that "annoying" the moderators with these questions will only lead to me being banned from the site. They don't have time for these questions.

If you are reading this and you are a moderator, then please just ignore this post and move on. I really never wanted to bother you so much.

I had other questions on the Rules thread, but I'll just post these two. I fear I'm treading on thin ice. If any experienced users would like to help me with the other questions they are on the The Nexus Forums > News, Rules and Feedback > Forum Rules and Strikes > All newbies read this before posting thread. Be warned, They are quite long posts. But PLEASE, WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT bother the moderators about this. Also I don't think they would appreciate it if you posted anything more about the subject on that thread or asked them any more questions about it. Once again, they are very busy and do not have time for these questions and I think I have been marked as quite the trouble maker, so any wrong move and i'm a goner.

One of my questions was:

What are the consequences of getting 3 strikes? Do I get kicked off the forums? Or do I get kicked off the site? Do I lose the ability to upload/download?

How would one go about going beyond being a normal user? In order to reduce one's strikes? Do you just have to be kind and helpful? Or actually do something physically like helping someone make a mod or something?

Anyway once again, please if you are a moderator, just ignore me. And I would like to sincerely say I'm sorry for being so bothersome.

Please don't ban me for this, just let someone else answer me.

Well, thats it for now then. Thanks for the help.

mate give it a rest will you ?

you got a very extensive set of awnsers from both the site owner (Dark0ne) and one of the mods ( lhammonds)

isnt that enough to satisfy your curiosity ?

if you get three strikes you get a ban you can appeal against said ban as i understand and that is about it

Essentially, if you get a strike, your best course of action is to just steer clear of the forums for awhile, and after a month or so, only make posts that actually add something to the conversation (think before posting). If you have nothing significant to add, do not post. If you disagree with something, just let it go, chances are someone else will come along and have a similar view, or you were wrong. If you have a question, search for the answer, spend atleast 30-90 minutes searching various terms related to the question, most common things at this point have been answered several times. If you do not find the answer, make a post in the proper place, asking the question, providing only information related to the question.

In general, people around here screw up because they get a strike, female dog about it (getting strike 2), then make some off-topic post trying to say how sorry they are, or continuing whatever it was that earned the first strike, or still bitching about thr previous two strikes. Only on rare, very rare cases do they take back banning. Three strikes is intended to give people enough warning about their actions.

Again, best advice would be to just not post or leave comments anywhere for a good long while. Just accept that you made a mistake, and take the time to learn from your mistake. Trying to be the "good boy" will just make you look like you're dishonest, and will still probably end with some sort of relapse. The why has been explained in other threads, accept what has been said as the "as is". Just drop the subject, if it isn't already too late.

Too many forums have descended into chaos, then vanished by allowing people to debate the meaning of the rules. This one has by far the best moderation of any I have seen. If you get a strike, you probably deserved it. Do not argue with the moderators. They don't have time to listen to whining or splitting hairs on the meaning of the rules. The purpose of the first strike is to warn you that you have overstepped a boundary. Not to start a debate over why what you did is out of line.

Man! Alright, I'm finally going to give up.. I don't know if i'm typing in a completely different language or something, but no one is quite understanding what i am asking or saying here...

I am not complaining about my strikes. I am not pleading to have them removed. I really have much better things to worry about. I guess the answer is that there is no clear, straight answer to my questions.

Oh well, I'll probably get banned from the whole site if I do anything, big or small at this point so farewell. Thanks for trying to help. I'll just have to go elsewhere if I have any questions.

I have decided this will now be my new signature.
