Kayl
Hey Nexus, this is Kayl. After being a little frustrated at the hair models available on Skyrim and on the Nexus (The male hair mods currently available are a bit too feminine for my liking...), I decided to try my hand at creating my own hairstyle. So, for MAXIMUM MANLINESS, I my first port based it off Captain Titus' hair from Space Marine http://images.wikia.com/spacemarine/images/d/d6/Titus_titlescreen.jpg Now, I know posting copy-righted material and distributing it on the Nexus without the Publisher's approval isn't allowed, but bear with me. I'm just learning how to rig the hair properly and learning how to apply the correct textures.Anyway, after fumbling around, I managed to get it imported into the game, but unfortunately, it doesn't have the textures applied properly! My Messed up Mesh! I did not create a .tri file for this, should I have done so? Edited March 16, 2012 by Kayl
Kayl
It seems that I'm screwing up somehow in Nifskope... Hmmm, typical... I'm still investigating into the matter myself. Edited March 16, 2012 by Kayl
Kayl
So, here's a screenshot of my Nifskope properties when I'm trying to import the model. The texture is purple/green and multi-colored... And it looks like it turns out that way in the game. http://img109.imageshack.us/img109/6364/nifskopesucks.jpg http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/9835/nifskopesucks2.jpg I also ensured the textures are in the proper directory... I have no clue what's wrong... Edited March 16, 2012 by Kayl
Kayl
New development! As an experiment, I copy-pasted the same mesh and replaced Hairline11.nif with my mesh. Essentially, just a copy+paste of my mesh for that particular hair. Now, my character is bald! AWESOME but not what I'm going for! BALD GUY What is the workflow for dealing with the hairline mesh? Kayl
I hate to be talking to myself in order to bump the thread and get some attention... Anyway, so the problem isn't NifSkope, I don't think. The Purple textures maybe coming from the model itself. I'll see what I can do on my end... GomuGomu64
Have you put the textures in the right place? I assume it would be in a sub folder of Data\Textures Which folder that is, I have no idea. That purple texture error is caused by there being no texture.
Kayl
I'll double check that, thanks... What about the hairline.nif issue? Why is my character now bald? All I did was made a copy of my hair mesh and replaced the hairline11.nif with it. Is that wrong?
