Moving the directory isn't wrong, but it looks like you didn't do it correctly. You should have created a Steam Library on your G: drive and used the Move option in Steam (Properties > Local Files > Move Install Folder).

Steam currently doesn't know where your Skyrim files are (unless you made a copy of the files instead of moving them). If it still thinks the game is installed, then you'll have to uninstall it (right-click game > Uninstall). If you don't trust me, then make a backup of your files. Or just try to run the game from Steam. The only way it would work from your current location is if you left the old copy there, or you had made some symbolic links (which is why I asked how you installed it there).

In Steam, go to Settings > Downloads > Steam Library Folders > Add Library Folder, select your drive from the dropdown and click New Folder. Give it a name, e.g. SteamLibrary. Then create new directories until you have the path:

G:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Skyrim

You cannot name it "The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim Legendary Edition" or anything like that. Copy or move all of your Skyrim files there. The Data folder should be directly inside the Skyrim folder.

Next, reinstall the game and choose G:\SteamLibrary as the install location. It will detect that your files are there and verify their integrity instead of re-downloading them. Steam will now know where your Skyrim files are, and TES5Edit/DynDOLOD should be able to pick it up from there.
