HollowTheDragon
Maybe someone here knows something that could help me out. I just started my first PC playthrough of Fallout 3 GOTY edition. About a minute or two into playing, the ambient / background music will start to skip / stutter / pop. The in-game radio music seems fine, however. I have installed: FOSE, 4GB patch, Unofficial patch, FNV stutter remover. I've also edited the fallout_default.ini files to change the UseThreadedAI setting as I've seen people suggest that to fix music glitches. I've also messed around with installing codecs using CCCP, didn't help. Uninstalled CCCP and installed ffdshow and tried Fallout 3 enabled AND AND disabled by ffdshow, still having the same issue. I've also tried launching the game from the FOSE launcher in compatibility mode (Win XP SP2) as administrator. I've also tried this same configuration when launching from Steam. I'm at a complete loss and don't know what else to do at this point. I've seen only a small handful of folks complain about this issue, and they seem to have fixed it using ffdshow tweaks, but I've tried those. Maybe I didn't do it correctly, but I'm confident I did it correctly. My system specs (not that I'm worried my system isn't up to recommended specs to run FO3):Core i5 6600K16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3200MHzASUS GTX 1070 Strix Additional note: I also have Fallout New Vegas, but I haven't encountered these issues with that game. HollowTheDragon
If anyone could give me something to go off of that I haven't tried, that would be amazing. Or let me know if you had this issue and what fixed it for you. Also as an additional note, when I tried playing the game for more than 10 minutes, I noticed the radio music in the pip-boy also develops the same issue. The in-world radios, such as the ones you find on tables and such, seem to play music just fine.
mvcso
I was having this problem and what solved it was uninstalling the codecs i had (i had k-lite mega codec pack) and installing cccp (community combined codec pack) 32bit, however my problem was with new vegas, but still same engine same problems...
