ben446
ok so ive been playing skyrim since its release on consoles. I then upgraded to pc and decided to create my own mod. its a player home, ive been working on it for about a month. honestly I'm a complete noob. everything ive done Ive had to research how to do it first. some information was easy to find and other information was hard. there has been a couple of bits ive been hunting for for over a week. ive made a player island that has a farm, mine, guard house, armoury, and now I'm working on the mansion. I would guess within the next day or so I'm gonna be reaching a hidden display room. ive found out how to make dragon claw displays and dragon priest mask displays. I think ive figured out how to do the paragon displays but I'm still looking for help with creating a black book display and an elder scroll display. ive looked through other mods to see how other MA's have created their displays for these two items. but all ive managed to find is the basics such as placing the desired item on a desired sirface. these are two displays ive been looking for information on for a while. I'm not great with the ck, everything ive done ive had to research and take notes on and follow the notes. hence why its taken me about a month or so to create my mod or atleast get this far. if anyone can help me with these two displays id be very greatful. thanks in advanced, and now back to another full day on the ck. yian
Since you mentioned you are not great with CK, but you want to make custom display, I suggest you use the simplest and fastest method: copy from this mod. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/62732/ This is a modders' resource, which means the author WANTS you to copy from it. And when I say copy, I don;t mean "take a look at what this modder did and try to recreate the same method in your mod." No. What I meant is "load this mod into CK and Ctrl+C the displays you want, and Ctrl+V those displays into your own cell. It is important to make your mod not dependent on the resource mod you copied from so you will need to rename certain things (read the tutorial that came with the resource mod and it will tell you exactly what to do step-by-step.) Finally, don't worry about this mod not being form 44. You won't be using its esp so that's not a problem.
ben446
thank you so much for the information. as I say everything ive done so far has been with the help of tutorials. id tried using copy and paste on things before but it never worked. it was with bookcases, I couldn't get the dummy books placed properly. but having a tutorial that comes with it will help a lot. thanks again
