Some issues with ENBV

I'm having some problems with ENB, basically Interior Factor is stuck to 1, Night - Day Factor to 0.99 and Night - Day Level to 0.75

ENB settings are in their own INI files. Each ENB "pre-set" provides it's own tweaked settings to those files. Please see the 'Solutions to Post-Processor (ENB/SweetFX et. al.) problems' section in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide. Among other things it has links to the STEP pages covering all their INI file settings.

The problem is not because of some ENB settings, but because of some game related parameter (probably edited by a mod) that tells the ENB the time of the day and if I'm in an interior/exterior cell.

ENB is a "post processor". It only comes into play AFTER the game has already rendered the image. So it is really irrelevant to your problem if it cannot deal with those game settings by way of it's own INI settings, which are the obvious first place to start. Considering you replied in 5 minutes, did you even look at that those INI settings on the STEP pages?

 

Telling me various "factors" are set to particular values doesn't tell me what is wrong or what you are expecting. Apparently you aren't happy with light level differences between interior and exterior, and don't think ENB is at fault. Then I would start by disabling "Interior Lighting Overhaul" and see if that affects your result. (Most mods do not assume ENB is being used.) After that I would try the same with MMUE (because it makes some less-than-obvious adjustments). If neither of those are the source of those settings, then you will need to conduct some "mod isolation" to determine which one. Once you have identified the conflicting mod, you can then see if there are any comments on the download page dealing with the issue, or if there are any settings for the mod you can adjust.

 

Haven't encountered this particular problem before, so all I can offer are general suggestions. As always, you are free to ignore any advice offered here. Just as we are free to not offer any.

Ok, you didn't actually read my post.I said I tried to run the game vanilla with just the ENB, and the 3 values were still stuck.

So if I wanted to change "Contrast Day" or "Adaptation Night" I couldn't because ENB thought I was in an interior cell, thus the only thing that would change was "Contrast Interior" or "Adaptation Interior".
As it happened to a clean install, I'm not really sure if it is because of the ENB (not sure why it would be?) or because of a game parameter not set properly. I know ENB applies after render. But my problem has nothing to do with render, so I don't see why your comment about post processing is relevant.

I replied under 5 minutes because I've looked at the table of contents in the page you linked and I saw nothing relevant to my problem. Only section 14 is related to ENB and none of those voices mentions interior or day/night detection

The "post processing" of ENB is applied to the game rendered image. It makes adjustments to that image as passed from the video card but prior to it being displayed on your monitor, so it's settings are totally relevant when used. I'm assuming the issue is with ENB because I am not running it (or any interior lighting mods) and not having apparent issues (but I still don't know just what you are expecting other than light levels that leads you to believe there is a problem). So it's either ENB or a mod, as mentioned earlier.

 

The ENBSeries.ini has an "[ADAPTATION]" section that "creates an effect that mimicks the iris of the human eye. When looking at something bright and then something dark, it will take a moment to adjust." There is a "[TIMEOFDAY]" section whose settings "allow a more precise control of when sunrise, sunset, night, and day should start, using the game time data." The "[NIGHTDAY]" section is an alternative method where "the color of the sky gradient is used for detection".

The "[sKYLIGHTING]" section has an "AmbientMinLevelInterior" setting "used for interiors rather than exteriors". However: "After testing in multiple interior locations including buildings, caves, mines, and dungeons these parameters appear to currently have no affect."

 

Those would seem to be the ENB settings you are referring to, but they are not using the setting names you provided. Where are these "contrast day", "adaptation night", and "Interior Factor" settings? Not in any of my game INI files. What are you comparing to determine "they" aren't changing at that time?

 

Try without ENB installed and see if you still have the problem. If not, then this matter would be best brought to the ENB forums.

I really have no words. What does adaptation have to do with this? Are you even reading my posts? You don't even use ENB, why are you replying? You are not bound by law to reply to a post if you don't actually know how to fix it.

Try without ENB? Why the hell would I try without ENB when it is something about ENB I'm trying to fix?

I got it, it was the 3.0 shaders! I reverted the shaderpackage013 back to vanilla and interior detection worked again, apparently by uninstalling via steam it didn't delete the shaders folder so the edited shader stayed there after a clean install

I'm posting a year late, but this solved my "always inside" issue.

 

Changing your shader packages around breaks the ENB and always detects you as inside.
