tramsleeper
Does anyone know of a character editor that exists with which I can edit the attributes / levels etc of my own character. Reason being that my save game has corrupted after a PC problem - the thought of spending another 2 months working myself up to my previous Level 52 is just too appalling to contemplate. Any ideas? Amphex
I know you can edit your saved games through the constuction set, but I`m unsure on how though. I know the higher powers here should know something about it. Try PMing a Mod or one of the long time members. They`re bound to know something. Marxist ßastard
As long as you know the attributes you had on your previous charachter, you can set everything back via console commands. Getting quest progress back or getting back spells acquired in the course of the game is a bit more complex, however. The attributes Level, Health, and Reputation, along with all physical attributes (Strength, Intelligence, Luck, &c.) and skills can be set by entering the player reference (Player->), a command formed by joining the word "Mod" and the attribute name (With no spaces), and an argument composed of what the attribute was previously. For example, if you wanted to give yourself back 502 health, you'd enter the following command: Player->SetHealth 502 ...And if you wanted to set your Short Blade skill back to 80... Player->SetShortBlade 80 There's a single catch you need to remember when editing your level -- changes to the level of your charachter will only take effect fully after you reload the game. Regarding actually editing savegames, you cannot edit savegames in TES CS. You can, however, edit savegames using TESAME and a few utilities that are avaliable on Morrowind Summit that are designed specifically for that purpose. PierreBeauregard
Actually, there *IS* a save game editor! Do a google search for:MSGEor"Morrowind Save Game Editor" You can change all sorts of neat stuff, create a new character that is the same level as the old one, and even how many slaves you've freed. EDIT: you can also try fixing your old corrupted save game, but all you'll be able to do is delete entries from your save file:http://mwsource.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=5999This post I made gives some hints as to how to do this (though it is mostly in regards to removing quest entries from your save files, but it can be applied to other purposes)
