SlyBoxer
Okay, so I installed a whole bunch of mods recently using the NMM. I decided to start a fresh game since some of the mods involved new hair styles and such. Ever since I installed these mods I've been having all sorts of problems. I've been booted to desktop numerous times, but the biggest problem I've been having is during the character creation. Whenever my character steps forward to be created he just keeps walking forward. The screen will move to the character creation options, but my character will be stuck in the walking animation. After I create my character he walks forward, and then walks over to the stone as if it's his turn to be be-headed. Now my person is just standing there, and nothing happens. I just stand there forever. The first guy that is supposed to get beheaded just stands there and looks at me as if I'm in his way (the guy that interrupts the priest saying lets get this over with). I tried deactivating all of the mods, which fixed the walking forward animation, but now nothing happens again. The guy isn't going forward to get beheaded, and everybody just stands there. My only choice so far has been to re-install the game. I want to play with mods! How do I fix this? I have no idea which mod caused all of this trouble, but if it helps... I've only been installing the "big" mods, or the ones that everyone has been talking about. Does anyone know of a mod that has been known to cause this? Also, when I activate the mods I'm not taking any extra steps. I'm literally just activating them in the NMM, and that's it. I thought that's all I had to do. I'm also overwriting the files of other mods when this pop up thing says that another mod already has them installed. That's pretty much all I got, if I need to add anything let me know please. SlyBoxer
New problem after installing... my person won't follow the captain. I just stand there looking straight ahead. I can't move at all. These mods completely ruined my game, and I can't even re install it and play now. I don't get why other people are having no issues playing with mods, and the first time I try them my game is ruined.
Renakit
Hi, you aren't alone, I haven't found a fix yet but I have the walking problem as well. Do you want to compare mod lists to see if we can't find the little bug that's causing this problem?
moogenflap
hey guys, I had the same problems since last weekend, but mainly crashes to desktop. There were a few mods that caused a few problems but I now have them all working well again, I've just started a new game this evening and it is epic and all seems to be working properly again. Had to search the forums but someone else had these same problems as me and it fixed it. I believe the mod which is causing the walking bug at helgen is APSkyrim.esp and ApSkyrim.esm (Disable them until you got past the start and out of helgen dungeon). It's not known to me if this mod could cause other problems with the sort of cut scenes etc, talking to people, worth checking for other bugs if you are going to use it. If your getting a CTD on the intro screen or a warning message when starting a new game, that says ---- WETriggerScript Warning.. or if you get a CTD on trying to load a saved game.... You need to check the following: In Windows7 you might have to show hidden files and folders first but Check in your c:\users\name\AppData\local\skyrim\plugins.txt that there isn't a duplicated skyrim.esm Im not sure what paths this folder is in for XP but there will be a appData folder, (maybe hidden in program files) if there is a duplicate entry for skyrim.esp, there is some problem where the load order of your mod manager is copying it twice when adding\removing mods,, There's a few other posts about this on the nexus forums.. All you need to do is make sure there isn't a duplicate of it and it should sort out the CTD's. Hope it helps, if it doesn't it must be different set of issues regarding other mods but this has worked for me.
