Dirtracer40
Went to log in yesterday and started getting the attached error. Was there an update I missed?
thumbincubation
I don't see an attachment, but there was just another Skyrim SE update. If you're running SKSE, you're going to need to do that thing to recall your older exe, or wait for SKSE to have another update. If you're not using SKSE, I'm not sure what will/won't have changed. If you're running SKSE and haven't already done this, set your steam to only update Skyrim SE when you run it, and run in offline mode. Then when it says update needed, before you run it, copy/paste your exe into a safe folder, so you can paste it back over the updated one. That fools SKSE into thinking you're running the older Skyrim SE and it will start.
Dirtracer40
But isn't too late to do that already? I am getting an error that I am running a newer version of Skyrim than SKSE supports. How do I get the old exe back?
thumbincubation
I was fortunate to avoid it, but people seem to be having success with the method in this thread. It re-downloads the older version of your exe. I believe this was for the previous update, so scroll the whole thread. I believe there's a correction in there, to make the same set of steps work for this update. https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/6140428-skse64-fix/
