Mojave Dropboxes cost money

The Nexus has a few Mojave Express mods already, but I was surprised to find that no one has made a mod that charges the player for using the dropbox feature.

I can't be the only one who feels that vanilla dropboxes are not only immersion-breaking, but feel a little bit like built-in cheats. A mod that made it so that the player has to pay to have their loot shipped around would add another layer to the role-playing that this game already pulls of so well.

It could be a flat fee (100 caps?) each time, or the price could even based on the total weight of the items being shipped (I was thinking WT*5 seems about right).

Any takers here?

I see an if statement that I think would be good for inserting a line of code. Would you mind if the payment was taken when picking up the item/s?

Not at all, if that's easier!

I'm sure I could come up with a lore-friendly justification... the perilous Nevada roads swallow so many deliveries that the only way for the Mojave Express to retain customers is to offer a pay-when-you-get-it business model. ;)

It works like a charm. I tested it a second time with this mod which adds additional dropboxes and it works with those, too.

There's only one problem, and it's a minor one: with your mod loaded, the "Pick up items" prompt appears any time you activate a dropbox, even if there is nothing to pick up. This means if you're being careless you can send 100 caps down the drain picking up ghost packages. Luckily there are pretty obvious indicators to let the player know when the dropboxes are empty (the [EMPTY] brackets, as well as the red flag being down). As long as the players is keeping an eye out for the indicators this shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks so much man, I'm sure this seems like a small thing but it was really breaking the immersion for me. If you decide to publish this on the Nexus you can count on my endorsement. :)
