Craytose
So I'm fairly new to Oblivion, been playing about a month now and 3 and a half weeks of that has been mod research, from learning how/why they work, to seeing what all is out there, to getting them to work together and not mess anything up. I've looked all over and while I have found mods that change up the level of everything, such as Frans, I'm one that, at least for my first play through, wants to keep all of the actual gameplay, enemies, armor, weapons, quests, etc. very close to vanilla. The addons I'm using my first play through are graphical enhancements, immersion mods, and mods like smarter bandits and crowded roads to just give more life and realism to the game. I DO NOT want anything that creates items, makes it easier to come by higher level items, enhances combat maneuvers or spells, etc. While after 3 and a half insane weeks (starting as an ABSOLUTE NOOB) of modding I am finally ready to get back on track of enjoying this amazing game, I find that the guards, the ones on the road especially, kinda make everything too easy. I can't walk by a minotaur, gang of bandits, etc. without an imperial legion soldier hopping off his horse and coming to assist me and basically handing all the enemies their tails. I have even run up on an entire group of bandits, from smarter bandits, giving all they've got to an imperial legion soldier and one-by-one he just smashes them all, even when I just sit and watch. I have no problem this being the case in towns/cities, order should be handled there with the strong arm of the law, I'm fine with that it's the way it should be. So basically, I want a mod that will make all of the imperial legion soldiers on the roads or added by other mods to not be 10 levels above me (and therefore above my enemies). If the game's structure doesn't allow for there to be a difference, say like, "an imperial legion soldier is an imperial legion soldier regardless of where he is so I can't make this set like that without making them all like that", then that's fine, nerf the ones in the cities too. Heck if someone will tell me how I can do it to just my game without it being a mod that's fine. I have found things like the guard overhauls and such but they dont' really do what I'm asking, they change the way the guards handle crimes and often come with **DO NOT USE THIS ON A SAVED GAME** tags. Again, if it's something nobody wants to take on as a full mod that's fine, just let me know how to change it in my file if nothing else. I just want to play the game and not run across "superman imperial legion guy" destroying all the enemies that I would have had to contend with on the road. Thanks for any help. AjaxSt
I might take a look and see what I can figure out for ye. Can't promise it'll be perfect, or even if it'll work, but I've got a massive overhaul in the works, and I'll be modifying the guards within it, so I'll be needing to touch them anyway. I'll let you know if I can figure it out, I'm kind of a noob at creating mods, myself.
