kenzoukun
Hello! I'm fairly new to modding, only started experimenting with the CK recently, so exuse me if my question is too dumb, but I really can't figure out what causes my problem. I'm trying to make a custom NPC for my friend to use as a follower, but I'd like to add a small quest before she could be asked to follow the player. I've created her as a standalone NPC, placed her in Riverwood (Sleeping Giant Inn), and made her forcegreet the player. I recorded my own voice and used it as a custom voicetype for this specific NPC.Everything went fine when I first tested her (I test her by loading a clean save): she was standing in the inn, all the meshes and textures worked fine on her, then she made her forcegreet, the small dialogue I made showed up nicely, lipsync and voice was OK, no error, everything worked as intended. Then I opened the CK again, and started to make her quest in which you have to find a book and give it to her in order to gain her favor. I only made the first stage of her quest (when you agree to help her), and went back to the game to test if the quest is starting fine and shows up in the journal, and it was OK.After this I reopened the CK and edited the questlog (it was too long, I shortened it a bit) and saved. I did nothing else. When I checked the mod after this, my NPC was gone. I literally did not change a thing besides shortening her quest description and since then, my NPC stopped working. I'm unable to see her, unless I remove the forcegreet package she has. I deleted my mod and the associated files from my data folder, made this NPC from scratch again, and I still can't see her in the inn at all if she has a forcegreet package. If I remove her package, she's in her place just fine, but as soon as I make her (the exact same one that worked before) forcegreet package, she's gone. I even reinstalled my Skyrim and CK from Steam to no avail. Strangely enough, even if I install my bakcup .esp from before the problem started (which just worked fine yesterday), it does not work at all now. How I re-did my NPC after my first one stopped working:- created the standalone NPC - placed her in the desired cell- made a new voicetype, assigned this voicetype to her- made a quest with a short greeting dialouge branch (in a normal, blue box), made that a forcegreet type, assigned the custom voicetype then recorded my voice, generated lipfile, added a new branch as a player response and a short goodbye-line afterwards (again with a wav and lipfile), and connected all of them in the dialogue views box and saved- I made my NPC a new forcegreet package, I selected the topic ( I choose the first dialogue branch of the quest, which I made a forcegreet type of dialogue), did not touch anything else (radius, etc.) and saved againIf I delete her forcegreet package, she's showing up in the game, but if I give her the package, she disappears... Any ideas what went possibly wrong, or what I'm not doing right? I'd really appreciate any help, since I can't find anything with googling. Thank you in advance!
