StarshipGhost
Too often an NPC will say something as I walk by but their mouths don't move. Regular dialogue works fine when you actually talk to them. Also I am noticing quite often an NPC will teleport/jump to a new location a few feet away instead of walking. It is bothering me so I was wondering if this can be fixed with load order or if its just a Skyrim bug that you have to deal with? Thanks! EDIT: After some more research, some say it has to do with too many scripts or in combination with framerate dropping below 60? I set Wrye Bash to higher Max Active AI settings but it didn't help. *Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch.esp*BSAssets.esm*BSHeartland.esm*BS_DLC_patch.esp*Falskaar.esm*Gray Fox Cowl.esm*ETaC - RESOURCES.esm*RSkyrimChildren.esm*Cutting Room Floor.esp*SMIM-SE-Merged-All.esp*Verdant - yian
The short distance teleportation usually happens when you have too many people in one scene and some npcs cannot get to where they need to, or when there are items such as furniture or decorations on top of the navmesh, thus obstructing AI's pathing. Having too many NPCs in one area sometimes seem to cause the lips-not-moving issue, from my experience. Can you think of any mods you use that adds a lot of extra NPCs to the world? All these author's mods seem to have serious issues. Probably a good idea to make more options like 60% less, 70%, etc. I will try disabling it and then using the 50% less option. On top of that it sometimes makes the Immersive Wenches tray they hold in taverns invisible. Thanks. EDIT: Ok, disabling Populated Skyrim: Hell Edition fixes it, using the 50% less option didn't help as far as I could tell. Really a shame because there aren't enough NPCs without it and towns now seem barren. Guess I'll probably use it anyway and just deal with crappy glitches for now. yian
I think Bethesda would absolutely love to add way more NPCs to make the game more lively, but they probably also knew the limitation of Gamebryo engine very well since they worked with it for a long time. So the amount of NPCs you see was probably the safest amount they felt you could have in the game without causing way too many glitches.
