PaulMcGann
Someone please help. I'm using ENB/4k parallax stuff for the first time, and I'm pretty sure I've installed everything correctly. However, I'm getting this weird problem where I'm getting very low-res textures or something popping up on certain things, like stones and the top crossbeam of house roofs. The only thing that's fixed it for me is quitting completely out of the game and re-launching it. I'm posting some screenshots so you guys know what I'm talking about. Any help at all is appreciated. I'm seriously tearing my hair out. I can't even find the problem when I've looked for solutions on the internet. https://imgur.com/a/IYV2R https://imgur.com/a/hepQN
PaulMcGann
No one? Help me, Obi-wans! You're my only hope!
Grospolina
I had this problem before, but I'm not sure exactly what fixed it. I can tell you what I did though. The issue only appeared after I installed the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, which fixes the DirectX 9 4gb limit. I had changed enblocal.ini to take advantage of the patch. I ran VRamSizeTest for DirectX 9 and it gave me a value of 12224. I subtracted 350 and used a value of 11874 for VideoMemorySizeMb. After the problem surfaced, I tried turning it down to 11000, but that didn't seem to fix it. I turned it down further to 10240 and it seems to be fixed now. Some people think that 10240 is the maximum value it should be, but Boris disagreed with that. It seemed to work for me though. Maybe just reducing it by some amount helped, and 10240 was just coincidence. Another user who had this problem said they were using 10240 and it didn't work for them. The other thing you could try is to turn down your DynDOLOD settings. I believe my texture tile size is 256 for TexGen and DynDOLOD. I had tried 512 and wasn't having good results. PaulMcGann
Awesome. Thank you so much.
PaulMcGann
That didn't work, unfortunately. Also, I'm not even using DynDOLOD. Figured the ones that come with the parallax mod (Tamriel Reloaded HD) would be enough.
Grospolina
Okay, thanks for letting me know. Still haven't gotten to the bottom of it then. They look like LODs though. Sometimes you can clip through and see the real textures underneath. Now that I think about it, you can go into the console (~) and type "tll" to toggle LODs on and off. That will prove whether they're LODs or not. I wouldn't recommend using that as a solution though. Because a reload seems to fix it temporarily, it really makes me think that it's running out of RAM or VRAM. You can try using Skyrim Performance Monitor to track this. PaulMcGann
Okay. So, I've ruled out all the parallax stuff and the ENB as being the culprits, as I've disabled every texture mod I have, plus the ENB, plus turned the speedhackwithoutgraphics to true in enblocal and it still happens. I'll try tll and using the performance monitor, but after using the performance monitor, I don't know what an actual fix will be.Oh. Yes. I can clip through to the real stuff underneath. That's what made me think they were LODs too.P.S. Thank you for helping. I've literally looked all over for answers here and coming up with nothing. PaulMcGann
Okay. So, used performance monitor. Posting a screen of it now, since I'm not quite sure what to make of it. The only thing that looked strange is the threads... which, with my Ryzen5 CPU shouldn't be happening...Also, it's officially LODs for sure. Console tll worked to fix it.Btw, thank you, Bethesda, for creating this extremely fun game with a plethora of extremely weird things that can happen to it. Haha.https://imgur.com/a/HxDlZ
Grospolina
RAM looks good. VRAM is maxing out at 3.1GB, which is normally the limit if you're not using ENB/ENBoost. Do you have the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update? Can you post your enblocal.ini?
PaulMcGann
I don't even know what the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is...And yeah.
