Vitross
I've had this problem for a while and it seems completely random when it happens.Oblivion turns black and does this error report thing saying "oblivion has encountered a problem and needs to close" And like i said it seems random for example today i encountered it while fast traveling to Bruma, taking off a piece of my armor, and getting on my horse. The next time time i tried to do those same activities they work fine. So if you could help me that would be much appreciated. Mods that i have installed in load order:Oblivion.esmOOO.esm(everything is esp after this point)OOORealistic Force MediumSpell DeleteRens Beauty Pack FullGT AesgaardToasters Legendary Skills and StatsExnems Rune SkullsEternal Dragon ArmorHarvest [flora]Harvest [flora] Shivering IslesMidas SpellsMidas Oscuro GemsLiving EconomyPhoenix EquipmentAxbane Hunters25Akatosh MountDLC Shivering IslesSupreme Magicka (OMods)Akatosh MountFemale Eye Candy Body Replacer (underwear)Supreme Magicka The only problem that i can tell is that OOO conflicts with alot of stuff and I used to have alot of mods installed before i cleaned up oblivion... So I really hope someone can help me
Malchik
Oblivion does crash from time to time. The annoying thing is that it wipes out any autosaves in the process. It's a reason for regular saving. I haven't noticed it changes much with the addition of mods, it did it long before I had any. And it does seem pretty random, although I suspect there is a simple explanation a tecky would be able to give. Somedays it will be as nice as pie and never crash. On another it happens two or three times in quick succession. When I started Ob, I saved enough money in the cuss-box to buy a much better computer. When that made no difference I learned to live with it. There is a thread somewhere about optimising the performance to reduce crashes but I don't think even that will completely remove them. So much for nay-saying. Maybe someone else has more helpful information?
bben46
I have seen a lot of posts relating to these random crashes. And I have seen almost as many suggestions as to how to prevent them. Defrag, Make sure you have the latest patch. Check to see if you have some program that runs periodically in background. Xfire , as well as any other IM program will crash Oblivion. And then, sometimes it crashes for no known reason at all.
